Peyton is taking a 4 million pay cut to help the Broncos free up cap space. Time for Romo to do the same. Romo salary will be 17 million this year. If Peyton can take a 4 million pay cut from his salary Romo can do the same. No its not a restructure that pushes money down the road, it's a straight pay cut. Come on Romo free up some cap space to help resign Dez, Murray and others.

Really easy to tell someone else to do with their million dollar contract...

Peyton's making all that money back from Papa Johns and all his other endorsements. Romo barely just got Pizza Hut commercial. He OBVIOUSLY needs the money much more than Manning does. Duh.

Completely different situations. Romo had an MVP season and is quite a bit younger. Peyton almost looked like he shouldn't play anymore towards the end of the season.

How about you taking 20% of your salary and sharing with the board... Come on now, you make way to much
based on last year's performance. Do the right thing, buddy!!!

Peyton can make that up easily with endorsement deals. It is like when everyone made such a big deal about Brady freeing up 24 mil for the Patriots. Sure he can do that when you have a hot wife who makes more than you.

Why?, we won't spend the cap space we already have. Don't you know everyone can be had for a bargain.

Romo earned this contract and should not even be asked to take a pay-cut. If he does out of the goodness of his heart, kudos to him.

Those two are in two different situations anyways, Manning makes a lot more dinero from other ventures.

really dumb comparison.

I dont know why people are so eager to defend millionaires. Romo is worth 50 million dollars. Him taking a pay cut so we can add another player to make the team better shouldnt be a slap in the face to him.

If Romo wasn't worth 100mil, I suspect Jerry wouldn't pay him that much. I might suspect that
your boss thinks your overpaid too so send in your 20% salary reduction and the board
will thank you.

They aren't touching Romo ' salary because it hurts them for the future. If it meant keeping Dez and Murray I'm sure Romo would do it if asked. If they do anything as far as restructures it will be someone like Smith

a paycut is different than a restructure. OP is regarding a paycut.

Isn't it amazing? We got a guy who after getting a new contract, actually plays better (to the tune of MVP level), and people want him to take a pay cut. lol

Money still has to be accounted for against the cap. We are still paying on pay cut for Free. It's a contract the money just doesn't go away. Heard this on talking cowboys yesterday
