PFF Grades - LBs

I can acknowledge that he hasnt been exposed yet. Like I said we haven't played any quality run teams which is where he really struggles. Dline is also doing a much better job in front of him.

Jaylon is terrible. Any JAG linebacker can be doing what he is doing. Nothing special about any of it.

Playing well? No, I would never say that. Playing well is making plays and being a difference maker and he simply isnt doing that.

knowing the difference is your problem, playing well is doing your job, he's made plays, so you're wrong there, it's ok, you've been described in this thread already, too weak to give the credit, on his food play so far.

How not so? Did you play football? Did you play LB?
Let me tell you how so. If supposedly every time a LB makes a tackle its 7 yards downfield (which isnt even true in this case) it aint just on the LB. I dont know why yall continue to parrot that stupid **** over and over.

No he isnt making plays. Running a guy out of bounds 9 yards downfield isnt good enough. You obviously have low bar standards for LBer play. And considering his pay grade he really sucks.

Zeke played well, Jaylon didnt.

Yeah and it’s not even fair to Steele to compare them. He’s a second year pro and he was a project. Like you said there’s no comparison.

Steeles comp is Nseke.
Great comparison. I do think Steele has shown to be better than Nseke and has taken control of swing tackle job or at the least backup RT

I think with a lot of these guys…we are hard on them without knowing what the rest of the league has.

Facts. Ask me who's a good guard outside of Zack Martin and I am stuck after the Colts' Quentin Nelson and Washington's Brandon Scherff. I mean my mind is almost blank after these guys.

I find it interesting how people's bias clouds their judgment on how players are performing. PFF isn't perfect by any means, but it's a decent tool and is fairly accurate in my opinion. It's limited data at this point and some of our players rankings are bound to change. For example, Tony Pollard is ranked #1 among RB's at the moment and I have a hard time seeing that hold up all year.
Everytime I see Tony with the ball in his hands he's producing chunk yardage lol.

Imagine we saved his money for Byron and just let Tony run wild.

IMAGINE!

:(((

last year our D line was so pathetic that the O line was virtually given free shots at the LBs. THAT is how it can happen and not be the fault of the LB.

Let me educate you...

Jaylon Smith’s #1 priority on that play was covering the RB. The RB took off on a draw to his left side, gaining 7-8 yards before Jaylon finally tackled him. Why? Because Jaylon was too busy looking at the QB and falling for the fake pass, instead of covering the RB from the snap of the ball. Jaylon got tricked once again and gave up 7-8 yards because of it.

Very simple to understand.

I rank PFF #99 in informative material.

I will adjust my ranking when this publication releases a detailed description on their ranking formula.
