I realize it's impossible to determine the scores of the Bengal players that had to face Parsons, since he moves around a lot. Suffice it to say, I'm pretty sure his general effect was to lower the overall scores of Bengal defenders.

Yes, and I want the best for this team. So if a player can't average a 70 or above for the season... There's no way that player is getting a big contract from me. A less than 70 equals less than 10 million in my book. So I'd be looking at Zeke and Tank crossed-eyed right now if I were the GM.

Just Saying.
If someone wants to look at DLaw cross eyed over meaningless pff stats he needs to show them he typically grades better than most in those stats. Always around a 80 or 90.

Pff determines it to who? You? Damn sure not me
Then why do you love their content? Because that's exactly what they are doing. They are grading a players performance to determine who had a good game and who didn't.

If I was GM, I'd use their grades to take a real strong look at play vs pay for some of my players. And I'd use a grade of 70 as my benchmark. But that's just me wishing the FO was as cut throat as I am.

* I am only including players who played at least half the snaps. So, there were role players who did score very well including Dante Fowler (92.8) and Israel Mukuamu(76.5) but they only played 21 snaps. ...as compared to Diggs and Brown who played all 69 snaps.

* I am again disappointed at how PFF continues to score the CB position. Diggs (58.2) and Brown (60.5) gave up next to nothing and held Jamar Chase to 1 catch for 5 yards. The grades still don't line up with what we see on the field. I mean Awuzie scored a 65.7. Does anyone think he had a better game than Diggs?

Top 5 Defense

1. Micah Parsons 92.6
2. LVE 75
3. Hooker 71.9
4. DLAW 64.1
5. Barr 63.4

Top 5 Offense

1. Terrence Steele 84.1 ( great bounce back game for him)
2. Noah Brown 79.1
3. CD Lamb 78.7
4. Zach Martin 74.0
5. Tyler Smith 73.2

Other Notables

Pollard 68.6
Zeke 52.7
Cooper Rush 53.6 (kinda unfair imo)
Farniok 33.0 ( worst player on the field for second week in a row.)
Trysten Hill 37.3 but only 10 snaps?? He played really well last week. Not sure what happened yesterday.
*IF* Steele didn't have 4 penalties last week....his score would have been similar.

I want to watch the tape... didn't have time today but first series was not good for Farniok that i did watch.

Surprised Donovan Wilson isn't higher....

Yeah, he hasn't had a good start to this season so far. But, his grades are normally higher, as you've said. His low grades could be due to Parsons playing the left side so much. Tank ain't use to the right, IMO.

Why would the Hill experiment be over when he just had a good game last week lol?
You're right, he's a one man wrecking crew. Couldn't live without him. Jaylon Smith had a good game or two. I'm hoping we try to draft Hill's replacement this upcoming draft. We need to beef up the interior DL next draft and hopefully we draft someone more talented and consistent than Hill.

They determine who had a good and a bad game by using their own metrics. I don't agree with a lot of their grades, but it's nice to pin their grades up against my very own thoughts. So I like their content also. I agree with them sometimes and I laugh at them sometimes too.

Fowler played very well, for the snaps he was in. That guy has some serious juice in the pass rush. He is a better pass rusher than I thought. He can really help as long as he’s not the main pass rusher for the defense. Paired with DLaw, Parsons, Armstrong, etc., he will have a lot of opportunities.

Quinn will continue to figure out combinations of DL for different situations. The pass rush will continue to improve as the season goes on.

56 was around the ball a LOT.

I wonder if he can play MLB.

Those PFF guys truly don't know how to judge the Oline. They pick favorites and pump them up, but they also are quick to wrongly judge others. Sad thing is many viewers, who don't know (or understand) better, actually fall for their bad judgment.

In this video, it shows how good Farniok actually performed. Farniok is dominant in run blocking. Too bad the video creator never truly mentioned that. There are some explanations on the Oline blocks that the video creator gets wrong, but it's understandable since he clearly never played on the Oline. Overall, Farniok played way much better than he is being given credit for. The film doesn't lie...

If there is one area where Farniok struggled a few times, it was on pass protection. A few times, he either leaned forward too much, thus enabling the opposing big DT to grab Farniok's jersey and pull his upper body down, thus throwing Farniok off balance leaning forward and allowing the DT to grab, pull down and swim past him...or he stood up too tall one 1 or 2 pass protection plays, thus 1 time where the DT drove him back within feet of Cooper Rush. Still, those plays were but a handful of times he got beat. A majority of the time, Farniok did well and improved from Week 1. Remember, both games Farniok was going against Defenses that both reached at least the playoffs conference championship games and one even reached the Super Bowl. These past 2 opposing Defenses are among the league's best, so big kudos to our young and inexperienced Left Guard and Left Tackle for improving each game.

No matter what nerds say on the internet, the Cowboys see how good out 2 young prospects on the left side of our Oline are performing. Expect them to remain our starters on the left side moving forward, and watch how they only are going to keep getting better and better. I've been super hard on Oline Coach Joe Philbin, but he and his assistants are finally doing a very good job building up our Oline with the right young players in place. If they stay healthy, expect this current 5 starting Olinemen to remain our starters and keep getting better and better each week as the season moves along.

Tyler Biadasz played very well, regardless of what anyone says. Looking forward to seeing him and this group of 5 starters to keep gelling and getting better and better every week. Looks like Coach Joe Philbin finally got it right.

Farniok played well in the first half, but did not play well in the second. Reader abused him a few times in the second half. I still think he will develop into a good C/G in time.

Hill was only in for 10 plays. Not sure how you can grade a player on just 10 plays.

I agree Cooper rush was at least 10 pts better than they graded him. I am not sure how Hooker got his rating. I don't recall him making any plays but it could be I just missed him.

I don't know what goes into their scoring system, but I assume Diggs got dinged for the receptions to Higgins. Diggs allowed a few of them.

DLaw played a very good game yesterday IMO. He was a force as a run stopper and he made a few plays that jumped off the screen. It amazes me how much people will whine and cry about bad run defense but then want to get rid of one of the best run defenders in the entire NFL.

I think you underestimate the impact Tyler Smith had in this game. Cooper is known for not being aware of the blindside rush and the strip sack. I would put him 3rd on your list.

That run stuffer is on the books for $14 million this year and $26 million dollars next year. So, it amazes me how much people will whine and cry about the last 26 years, when they applaud our front office for overpaying a run stuffing only DE. Hell, Taco Charlton was a run stuffer only DE. Would you be okay with the front office paying Taco $26 million dollars next year?

I like DLaw, but I don't like his contract. If Tank is our big money DE, then he needs to be able to do it all, IMO. Because anyone of us can think of about four guys that can come in and be run stuffing DE's. Heck they could have moved Armstrong to left DE and let Fowler play as his opposite. If Tank's run stuffing is so important then why can it easily be replaced?

These numbers just tell me, that Jason Peters will be our new starting LG when he gets activated to the 53.
