Not based on any metric you can find. PFF always graded him as an elite run blocker but below average in pass protection. Every year.
That is surprising to me. Collins Steele's best trait is also his run blocking, let's see how they are graded at the end of the season.

Steele seems to be a better pass blocker. He was great on Sunday. Lets see if he can keep it up. I was less sure after the Tampa game but maybe that poor performance lit a fire under him.

This is an evaluation year for him to see if he is a long term piece or not. We heard Romo keep on saying great push on the right side.

Wrong. PFF grades line play extremely well. Their top performers mirror the AP all-pro team. DJ Reader dominated him. Farniok is playing like the inexperienced 7th round pick that he is....... and likely will not be on the field much longer.
How much do you want to bet that Farniok remains the starter at Left Guard?

I think the plan is to slide Peters in at LT so Tyler Smith can go to LG before Farniok gets someone killed.

They are not going to move Tyler, jesus people youve been beggin for the answer to Tyron's injury problem and it is here...why do you want to move him? You put the 40 yr old at RT and play your best guy at LG maybe Steele who knows..DONT TOUCH THE LT..he has given us a answer to a 5 year problem.

None of us know what they are going to do, but we know they have to get farniok off the field. It just makes more sense to let Peters, (a future HOF OT) play his position and slide the rookie to LG where he's been all preseason. They weren't going to keep Tyson at LT anyway when Tyron Smith returned. He might as well get used to playing G. Obviously, Tysons future is at LT but the future is not right now.

L. Collins was asked to play guard here, but he refused. I think he could have been a pro bowl guard playing next to Tyron.

You have a source for this? He did play guard and the FO moved him to tackle.

They have to get farniok out of there. Makes more sense to slide the rookie over.

Makes more sense if you want to win now. Makes less sense if you'd rather develop Tyler at LT for the future.
I expect Jerry goes for win now. Also suspect he made a commitment to Peters that he'd play at least while Tyron was out.

Just for fun. La El was his old self to extremes. He scored a 95.1 in run blocking but a 27.3 (!!) in pass blocking. IMO, he should be moved to G.

Cincy's MVP was DJ Reader (88.0) who benefitted greatly from lining up across from Farniok.
I don't see how any of their OL got could have got a good run blocking grade. They struggled running the ball almost as much as they did protecting the QB. Mixon barely averaged 3 yards a carry

* I am only including players who played at least half the snaps. So, there were role players who did score very well including Dante Fowler (92.8) and Israel Mukuamu(76.5) but they only played 21 snaps. ...as compared to Diggs and Brown who played all 69 snaps.

* I am again disappointed at how PFF continues to score the CB position. Diggs (58.2) and Brown (60.5) gave up next to nothing and held Jamar Chase to 1 catch for 5 yards. The grades still don't line up with what we see on the field. I mean Awuzie scored a 65.7. Does anyone think he had a better game than Diggs?

Top 5 Defense

1. Micah Parsons 92.6
2. LVE 75
3. Hooker 71.9
4. DLAW 64.1
5. Barr 63.4

Top 5 Offense

1. Terrence Steele 84.1 ( great bounce back game for him)
2. Noah Brown 79.1
3. CD Lamb 78.7
4. Zach Martin 74.0
5. Tyler Smith 73.2

Other Notables

Pollard 68.6
Zeke 52.7
Cooper Rush 53.6 (kinda unfair imo)
Farniok 33.0 ( worst player on the field for second week in a row.)
Trysten Hill 37.3 but only 10 snaps?? He played really well last week. Not sure what happened yesterday.
There is usually a big discrepancy in the yardage PFF assigns to CB's in coverage VS Pro Football Reference. Im not exactly sure how either assigns yardage allowed

Its too early in the season to throw in the towel and Jerry is running out of seasons. Tyler looks like he can be a beast at G.

Larry Allen could also play tackle. Its nice to have someone who can bring legit positional flexibility, and right now, the team needs a LG more than anything, Maybe if Farniok was any good, we could keep Peters as a swing tackle.

Well, they are just looking at that one guy every play, and not how the defense played as a whole. When Cincy hands the ball off, in regard to La Els grade, , its more about what La El does not what Nixon does. We see it all the time the runner picking the wrong hole. PFF typically gets the OL correct over the course of the season. They can't grade CBs and a few other skill positions but the trenches they tend to get right.

I was rooting for LVE....bad injury, but looks like he's playing well.

I thought he looked quicker to the ball as well. Now some people are saying he’s out of position a lot. I haven’t seen enough tape to know how true it is, but that’s a good grade for him. At least he’s making some plays.

grades are all over the place this week. I disagree with some of them. Thought Donovan Wilson was really good too
