Hah I love it. Keurigs are for pikers. French press and Cold Brew for my coffee fixes. The wife and I don’t play when it comes to coffee. Bar is real high.

Stafford has been in the league 12 years and he's made 1 Pro Bowl.
I wouldn't say he sucked by any means but compared to his expectations as 1 overall coming out of college he has underachieved.
All that said Brady was trash 2 years ago when he had no weapons and we saw last year how weapons matter as he was a top 3 QB quite easily.
And this is clearly the best overall team Stafford has been a part of. --provided the defense doesn't drop off with the loss of the DC.

Aaron Rodgers is arguably the most gifted QB of all-time. He is almost certainly a jerk but his raw talent is his raw talent and the NFL knew he was a jerk when the let him fall on draft night.
I'd rank him 1 if there weren't a younger version of him in PM5. I think Mahomes, Brady. Rodgers are top 3 with a bullet. 4 falls off a shelf compared to those 3.

Watson is really, really good but there are people who ignore his obvious flaws--holding the ball wayyyy too long primarily. He's a top 5 guy imo if you ignore the off field stuff but it's really hard to do that.
Talent-wise he is better than Dak in raw ability. But he isn't more mature or a better team leader at least not yet.
I think his value was above Dak pre-massage issues but that no longer is the case. Rightly or wrongly all this drama drags him down a good bit.

Fans that watch every play of Dak and are critical of him ignore the same performances from their faves. It is a strange thing to see on a Cowboys board tbh.
We saw Dak improve in accuracy, the deep ball and his footwork and pocket presence. He puts in the work and got better in those areas which were serious weaknesses at one point.
And he's always been a great team guy.
He's pretty darn easy to root for.
But he's coming off a serious injury and it's perfectly OK to ding him a bit for that and say hey we need to see if he's mentally and physically 100% to start the year.

Rodgers and Brady have proven through double digit seasons they are great. They deserve the kudos every ranking. Mahomes has made plays unique to himself in league history. So he's pretty untouchable.
All the other guys can trend up or down week to week.
Simple psychology says you'd like your guy in that mish mash pack of guys pretty much near the top.

all I read was bunch of excuses for Stafford and blame on Dak for not winning it all in 2016 as a rookie!!! in case your forgot Rodgers hasn't been to the superbowl in 10 years. Philly won it recently.

Stafford is over rated. 12 years. 0-3 in the playoffs. team must have been good to make it to the playoffs. but he couldn't get over the hump. 7-58 vs. winning teams. that's called over rated.

I never blamed Dak for anything. Dak deserves credit for the lack of help he’s gotten and the coaching. As does Stafford. You’re the only one in this thread pushing that double standard. Dak, Stafford, and Watson all get bonus points for things out of their control

QB challenged fans don't understand the dynamics between the QB and the team around the QB.

Lack of help? Only maybe KC has more weapons than Dak has at his disposal. We had the 11th ranked defense in 2019 and were 8-8......and barely got there. Dak deserves credit for padding his numbers digging Dallas out of holes ............ he's an expert at making the final score look respectable

To hell with the rest of the QBs on this list. All I care about is Dak and how he can move up from 7th. Watson is not even playing this year so that moves Dak up to 6th.

I mean from the game planning, play calling, clock management, and general defensive prowess.

When was the last time the Dallas Cowboys had a defensive coordinator other teams coveted? Mike Zimmer 15 years ago?

While stats are immaterial to me for the most part, I do think Stafford is an elite quarterback who was trapped in the death vortex known as Detroit.

If he's not past his prime, I think he's going to explode onto the national conscience with the Rams. He's going to take them to the next level, while Jared Goff is about to become Scott Mitchell.

Coaches are wildly overrated and overemphasized. Mike Fox won a Super Bowl with a Super Bowl roster, then got fired twice and can't get a job. Dan Quinn went to the Super Bowl, and then got fired. Same with McCarthy. Mike Zimmer's defense looked like garbage the past two years.

The way players are paid nowadays, and the way millennials think, coaches are just babysitters and coddlers now. There's no place for Jimmy or Parcells. Players can't handle authoritative coaches anymore. They shut down if they're corrected on anything.

I disagree. Stafford's issue is with constancy. He's a yo-yo QB for me.

Above average for sure, but not top 5.

    Mike Fox...?

Do you mean John Fox who got fired because he couldn’t win the super bowl with a super bowl roster?

I agree and will add I don’t think he should be rated that highly. I’d put him below Dak but I’d put Ryan and Stafford right at, around, just behind or maybe above Dak. Also, Herbert.

You may want to check his stats since 2015. He’s been consistently good to great. And he hasn’t had much to work with.

it's so hard to look at an individual player from a team sport--that's why there are so many differing opinions on Qbs. Stats aren't going to help.

For me, Stafford is following a similar trajectory as Rivers. He'll end up having a nice statistical career, but will never be clutch enough in big moments or elevate a team enough to win.

You wasted an opportunity to be gracious. It's too bad. You were otherwise doing well in this thread.

Yeah that’s legitimate criticism...he’s never been considered clutch. But the Rams are loaded and he’ll have his chance to prove the critics wrong.

It would be interesting to see them do this list after this season because that's all that matters, if that really matters.

Comparing QB's has always been a waste of time to me. There are far too many variables to consider.

Give me Dak over Watson and Allen. Top 5 in my book.
