A player taken too high, that was neither the best player or even the best TE on the board when taken, hasn't turned out to be that great.....Shocking. Hope he can help KC.

He could have.... You have to fight to find a niche. He didn't fight enough.
How does this explain the other tight ends that were drafted high and went to other teams? If you have a great center don't use a high draft pick on anothe one, if you have a great qb don't use a high draft pick on another one. If you have a great tight end...... well you get the picture, just doesn't make sense.

Well, if he couldn't here with Romo, I doubt he will with Alex Smith...other than a steady diet of four yard bootleg completions. I don't usually complain about draft pics, but that was a head scratcher

Weak, guess we won't get a comp pick from that? Unless it opens against players we've signed this year? Any thoughts?

He'll probably have more TD catches than Witten this year.

Just sayin'

And the Cowboys will have more receiving touchdowns than the Chiefs---what's the point? We don't feature our tight ends in the red zone. We have the best redzone receiver in the game and Zeke so why should we?

A receiving only TE isn't a tool this team can use. Which makes the draft pick even more perplexing. And why BPA isn't always the right answer.

And I'm not say Pablo was the BPA, but if the BPA has a skill set the team cannot or will not use, it makes no sense to draft him.

Our staff is what's wrong with them. If it was one, fine....two, maybe.....three, ummm look in the mirror.....four, should be obvious at that point.

Glad we are putting the senator in the HOF, but we sacrificed alot to make that happen.. These other guys could have contributed, but never got the chance.

Pats would've made a way, but we have JG.

Bennett was a good player for us. He was actually very good for a tight end 2. Everyone knew he would succeed better if he was the main guy. He was pretty average for the Patriots when Gronl was healthy.

Fasano had an average but lengthy career.

I just find this silly.

Dallas doesn't feature two tight ends....they would prefer to get the ball in the hands of their receivers or running backs. Just because we don't feature two right ends does not make any of our coaches lesser coaches. Statistically? I would guess our offense has been on par with the Patriots.

Just because we are doing stuff different and having the same success does not make our offense lesser than anyone. Our defense is the problem.

They have a good TE already. Looks like he's fine being a bench guy his whole career.

He was just a poor pick and fit for this team when he was drafted. It was doomed to be a wasted pick.

Escobar's biggest problem was Escobar. It's hard to incorporate him into the game plan when you can't count on him to be where he's supposed to. His problems weren't physical, but mental. This was a draft pick fail, not usage fail.
No it was a usage fail. Just like with bennett before him. Being UNABLE to utilise two tight ends correctly makes it look like a pick fail....

Good for him.
Maybe a fresh start will do him good!
He's still by far the second TE (at best) on that team.

But with a QB scared to death to go down field in Alex Smith, the TEs do live large in KC.

Maybe he can perform well enough to get us a comp pick higher than end of the 7th round?

Because you say so, huh?

It's hard to utilize a receiver who isn't where he's supposed to be when the quarterback is making his progressions. I'm not saying Dallas would have used him a ton because they don't run a lot of 2 TE pass plays, but he was in no way comparable to Bennett. Criticize Dallas for their use of Bennett and I'll agree. But this guy isn't in the same stratosphere.

If it was usage fail another team would have signed the guy to give him a chance to start. Instead he's competing for a backup role in KC with little chance to start.

Kinda hard to beat out a HOF player. Good luck to him

What!!?? Seriously, the QB has Zeke, Dez, Witten, Beastly, and Williams before he even considers Escobar. Get out of here with that crap
