The Cowboys and Dak Prescott apparently aren’t close on a new deal, but how far apart they are remains a question.

The Cowboys have said they have made what they consider to be “solid” offers to Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott and Amari Cooper, which would rank them “at least in the top five” at their respective positions. That would mean more than $30 million per season for Prescott.


NFL Media reported Monday, though, that Prescott is seeking an annual average of $40 millionper season.

Never ever believed it in the first place. Anyone who did has issues.

Does it matter? Tag him with the option to match. If someone wants to pay him significantly more than the top 15th average qb salary then take the 1st. He's a mid tier qb, until he proves otherwise that is what he should be paid!

Im sure Dak didnt "ask" for 40 mil.
Im almost certain that someone VERY close to Dak put that number out there to see what would happen. Im also sure Dak didn't stop this person from doing so...

Wentz had 33 TDs in 13 games in 2017. Dak hasn't come close to that type of production. Sure. Wentz been injured, but the rhetoric that Dak is just as goods or better is way off. If Wentz can stay healthy he's the better QB and it's not even close. Dak has the leg up in durability, but I don't see a 40 passing TD type of season from him.

Also Wentz can sit in the pocket and pick you apart if he wants to. Dak cant; which is why he was a 4th round pick. He has to move around to find players open and cant sit in the pocket; despite only pocket passers only win Superbowl's; and he still asking to break the bank.
