News: PFT: Dak Prescott nearly set NFL record, and no one noticed

Not true. Linehan's route combos are very very basic. He runs the same ones over and over, hence why our wrs are covered.
They were not covered on either int. Cooper had his man beat and the cn came off another Wr and Gallop was so open I could have hot him.

Never ever have I heard playcalling being blamed for interceptions -we have entered Dak slobberer bizarro world! He does not have that many interceptions-you dont have to make excuses for them-they happen in the NFL!

People can say what they want about Prescott but he's improving at least in general as a QB. I have noticed many times in the past few weeks where he's beginning to anticipate open receivers and make the throws before the receivers come out of their breaks, things we weren't seeing from him before. Of course he needs to continue to improve in many areas including ball security but I think Prescott's trending is positive.

QBs have stats like Daks and are praised.

For example, Russell Wilson has 79 total yards passing the other night, including a terrible pick, but everybody is praising him because he won. Had Dak only had 79 yards passing total people would riot to cut him.
Cowboy fans are the worst on QBs. Aikman won 3 Super Bowls and fans were booing him his last season on a terrible team.

I am saying playcalling hurts our passing game as a whole. I'm not talking about the ints. Gallups was on dak and the Cooper int the corner actually made a great play. He's not a robot he's allowed to make mistakes. As long as he gets it together and helps us win at the end of the day. There's no need to name call, Romosexual

Exactly. Once the narrative has been defined, it becomes the total story. They did the same crap with Romo. The fact that he was criticized for wearing his hat backwards or a trip to Cabo was the reason we lost despite poor defense and a receiver quit on a route that would have one the game. Don’t forget playing golf in the offseason was the reason he never got us to the SB. The media and fan base have a a way of taking few things and turning it into the definitive story on someone.

You also forgot that because Romo fumbled the Xtra point snap in Seattle, he was forever labeled a choker as a QB.

That's trust though, he didn't before.

I mean...cool? I think it got overlooked because "7th most completions in a game" isn't really that interesting lol
Plus it was an OT game....huge asterisk if he did actually break it

It's funny, If you like(d) and support both QB's but weren't afraid to point out mistakes or failings in their games, one side would label you a hater while the other would label you a lover, only to have the other side do the same when you talk well or poorly about the other QB.

There seems to be groups on both sides that can't stand the notion of supporting a qb while pointing out things they need to work on. If you criticize Dak in any way, you must be a Romosexual. If you criticized Romo at all, you were a hater. If you support Dak in any way, you're a Dak-lover who makes nothing but excuses for him.

It's getting so ridiculous. In fact, I think from now on, I might just start completely discounting what people who use those terms say and put them on ignore since they clearly have no concept of looking at things realistically and can only see things in terms of us and them.

I liked Romo. I supported him, but when he made critical errors, I pointed them out. I saw that he was constantly working on his game and was sad to see him go but I knew that it was time. I like Dak and support him, but am concerned about several things. He keeps showing flashes of potential and will never be the type of QB that Romo is. He plays a different game. That's neither good nor bad. It's different. There is more than one way to QB a team and achieve success. Time will tell if Dak overcomes those concerns, but he is not helped by Linehan's basic playbook. Is the playbook the only problem? Of course not, but it's been a problem since before Dak was QB.

So if you don't like the fact that someone liked Romo and likes Dak. Go suck an egg. If you wanna label someone a Romosexual or Dak-lover, then I'll know you're a moron who lets hatred blind them rather than someone who likes to take a look at things realistically.

Instead of childish labels and name-calling, try being an adult for once in your life and realize that different people have different opinions about the game. Grow the hell up.

soon....they're gonna notice a lot more than almost records.....and they'll never see us comin'.

It happens quite often, defenses study tendencies and what teams like to run in certain situations. The best examples I can think of is the Saints/Colts Super Bowl that sealed the game for the Saints. Manning called a quick slant to convert a crucial 1st down to try and tie the game. It wasn't a bad throw and the defender did make a great break on the ball, but It was a bad playcall because the defense knew that was a "go to" play and were ready for it.

The same can be said about the Seahawks/Pats Super Bowl, playcalling cost them a championship. It can be argued that it was a bad playcall to pass at the goal line when having one of the best RBs in the game. It can also be argued that it was a bad pass play to call in that situation. It wasn't a bad throw and it is well documented that the Pats were ready and expected that play, they had practiced defending that play all week. That might go down as the worst play call of all time and ended with the INT.

Yeah because you have mouth breathers on here wanting to start Cooper Rush and saying how bad can a QB be regarding Dak. They have their mind made up about Dak and will continue to fire off their ammo for their agenda. I love seeing them grasp at any straws they can after Dak keeps racking up the wins to salvage this season.

The only record I care about right now is tying the stealers with 6 Lombardi's.

It's greatly to Dak's credit that he's been improving his performance on a persistent pace this year.

Sure, he's had his ups and downs the last couple of years but he's steadily becoming a clutch QB.

There's this weird rift right now with the new QB. It goes as follows. 1) Dak is Jesus. 2) Dak has potential 3) Dak is trash

The CZ cannot discern between the latter, because sometimes those of us at 2, slide to 1. Honestly, it's fair. We slide there because Dak slides between all 3 positions, and we're still trying to figure out 100% who this kid is. The criticism is warranted. He's a year 3 starter, and he plays for the Cowboys. If you think this didn't happen to Romo, google Tony Romo Meme.

I hope Dak is Jesus. He seems like a good kid. Even though he winks a lot. I hate winkers, but I still love Dak. Go COWBOYS!!!
