Does this mean he isn't happy with the new direction of the offense? I mean long does it take to say you are excited about the opportunities in a new offense? Of course, unless you are not...........this is why I said a few days ago, there are dynamics to these changes behind the scene than we know IMO.
I asked the question....what happens if Dak struggles in this offense through mid-season. Would MM dare bench him........
It's hard to imagine a scenario where Jerry would allow Dak to be benched.
Maybe if he threw 10 interceptions in a row? Lol

I have always said, sometimes you have to pay attention to not what's being said but what's not being said.

Dak Prescott on Kellen Moore departure: I’m upset, but I’m happy for him

Posted by Josh Alper on February 10, 2023, 9:10 AM EST

The Cowboys made a major offensive change after they were eliminated from the playoffs when they parted ways with offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and set head coach Mike McCarthy up to call the team’s plays during the 2023 season.

Many players will be impacted by that change and quarterback Dak Prescott will be at the very top of that list. Prescott briefly weighed in on Moore’s departure while making appearances at the Super Bowl in Arizona on Thursday.

“I’m upset, but I’m happy for him,” Prescott said, via Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News.

Prescott’s happy for Moore because he is now the offensive coordinator of the Chargers and he’ll have to get over his other feelings ahead of next season in order for the team to put forth their best bid to advance past the divisional round for the first time since Prescott came to Dallas.
Dak is the primary reason Kellen is gone.
Their combination just didn't deliver against SF. Major change was needed, and contract reality is that we're stuck with Dak, so it was Kellen who had to go.
In an alternate universe where we weren't buried under a mountain of dead cap with Dak, and could simply decide straight up which one to move on from, I'm not so sure it is Kellen who goes.
But that's not our universe. In our universe *they* didn't deliver, and *they* were gonna take the hit.
To be fair, our *GM* and *Director of Player Personnel* are arguably the guys who *should have* taken the hit. For even money, we could have had Cooper instead of Gallup and Schulz in that game. Just a better offense. By a lot. Schultz and Ferguson are almost a wash, and Cooper >> Gallup.
It would be interesting to know what Dak and Kellen thought of the Cooper for Schultz and Gallup trade-off. Maybe we'll get to hear it now that Moore is free to speak on it.

Watch the Chargers go deep in the playoffs or better yet win a SB. The board implosion would be horrific.
Jerry's implosion would be worse.

I think his dream with The Red Menace was that having failed to *win* post Jimmy, he wanted to at least leave a coaching legacy behind as his "success" as he rode off into the sunset.

To see another "Boy Genius OC That Jerry Built" have his success *elsewhere* might just do him in. He would have had that legacy *right in his hands*, and then fumbled it.

Really. I think it could break him.

I won’t be upset at all. Maybe they will. They do have an elite QB which we don’t have. And perhaps Kellen’s system better fits Herbert’s skill set. Best of luck to Kellen but I am happy for the change. Now let’s see if we can get the ball out of Dak’s hands quicker and into the hands of his playmakers faster.

He is just saying that. Moore being gone gives Dak no excuse now. Unless MM calls the same curl routes. Something tells me we will have more of a 2016 style Offense.

If you look at daks ints, most of them are tipped or they're on some sort of play where the wr/te is a comeback a curl or one where the player is supposed cross in front of the dB. That's all timing, this goes back to countless players over the last 4 yrs say they know what Dallas is running cause they're predictable and they don't adjust.

But because espn media people tell you guys moores good you soak it up, forgetting all the Sundays you spent screaming at your TV because of his playcalling

I don't see how. Moore couldn't coordinate his way against top defenses. If he changes it's because the Cowboys provided him with on the job training at the expense of our down fall and players careers.

People don't realize how much Kellen worked to a dak to try and develop a system he could fit into. The offense on the field now is nothing like the offense Kellen begin with he has tweaked it all season long.
Dak knows this.
Some of you will see the offense he uses with Herbert next year and wonder why didn't he use that here?

You’re not saying anything I don’t agree with. Half or close to half of his ints are bad decisions by Dak. Some are receivers fault and some are picked. The int in the red zone in playoffs was on Dak. He should have used his feet and ran it. Having an empty set was a give away it was a pass or he was running it. He chose wrong. He is a good QB and we will be ok. Back to the drawing board with a new playcaller. Hoping our new O-Line coach will run a power blocking scheme.

this year will be he's not familiar with the plays and the new offensive coordinator. At the end of the season, he will be gone, and the next year will be fat mike sucks. shrugs, it's the seasons of excuses.

Super disrespectful to use a pic of when Dak had his leg seriously broken in different directions. Then again, not surprising who posted this.

I think the OC/QB combo had seen it's run and it was time to do something else. The change can be a good thing for both of them.
