I hope he does comeback, I enjoy watching him play.

It stinks when great players have to retire. I wish elway, marino, aikman, kelly and young still had enough to be playing. Its fun to watch great players.

so the real question is, will favre throw more touchdowns than strahan has sacks?
I actually feel sorry for people who don't.

I guess Favre won't walk away until he plays so bad people don't care anymore...

I feel for Rodgers who has been a good soldier by waiting patiently to get his opportunity. Rodgers should add a little pressure of his own, tell the team to start him this year or trade him so he can play. No reason for him to continue to deal with this year after year....

That happened years ago.

Absolutely agree.

The Packers are a team and they constantly get the Favre treatment. He is bigger than the team... I think McCarthy is changing that though.

  2. Where is FloridaRob?
:lmao:

Right here. I don't know what to think. My mind has moved on without him. Everything this season has been Rodgers, Rodgers, Rodgers, and I think it is time to let him sink or swim. We still don't know if rumor is legit. Mort also said that Moss would be a Packer during last years draft. I believe it is legit even tho in Cooks recent statement, he said nothing has changed.

It could be a public relations nightmare for Green Bay. But if the 49ers can let Montana go to Kansas City, I guess the Packers can let FAvre go to anotehr team. AS long as it is not Chicago, Detroit, or Minnesota, then maybe that is the right thing to do. Let him go back to Atlanta and start until their new QB is ready.

REgardless, the PR hit will be incredible. He should retire a Packer....

i'm getting sick of Favre's crap he either needs to decide already im gonna play 2 more years or im retiring period. Not only is it pissing off the fans but im sure the Packers are not happy to hear about this. they spend the off-season building this team around Rodgers and getting away from the favre era and then this crap starts. If i was the Packers and Favre really wants to come back then i trade him to the Falcons for a 4 or 5th rd pick since it would be a good thing for the Falcons to turn things around after teh whole Vick debacle. Packers need to man up unless they do want Favre but i doubt it.

BTW sucks for Rodgers who has been patient and waiting for his chance to finally prove that he can be a starting NFL QB. it would suck if Favre screws him again because i think Rodgers can be a very good QB with the talent around them. If i was Rodgers i would punch him in the balls if i saw him lol

He shouldn't have retired after last season anyway, but this thing is getting old every year...

Aaron Rodgers is gonna Nancy Kerrigan his old arse one day...

I agree Rodgers must be getting tired of all this...I mean every year. :(

And not to be picky, but I think you mean "gonna go Tonya Harding on his old arse one day..." Nancy Kerrigan was the one who was clubbed by Tonya's ex hubby.

If Favre plays again, it won't be in Green Bay. Packers have moved on. The fans for the most part have moved on too. We love him, but the train has left the station, and Favre was the one that blew the whistle.

Rodgers has not gotten much playing time in his career. Every time he does he seems to get dinged up, so he is more like Kerrigan.

I predicted such an occurrence. Since he made the madden cover, he will want to un-retire, the packers wont want him back, he will join some team needing a QB and then get career ending injury. Just wait for it.

They won't release him. He'll either stay with the Pack or be traded to a non-NFC North team.

Absolutely.

I also think that McCarthy forced his hand. Maybe told him that he would have to win the starting QB position(then Favre retired).

I believe that McCarthy has seen enough of the GREAT FAVRE and his "wish & chuck" style of QB play. He is downright careless in his poor decision making.

I don't think McCarthy has any more to say about Favre coming back than Campo had about Aikman coming back. Ted Thompson is calling the shots and he's made it pretty clear they are moving on. Just look at the way Thompson handled the Moss situation. Favre as much as demanded Thompson sign Moss in 2007 and that didn't happen. Then, after being one int away from the SB the Packers again had a chance to jump into the Moss sweeps but didn't even make an offer. With these actions Thompson has made it clear he is going to do what he thinks is best for their organization and not what Favre wants. He's also said they are getting Rogers ready to play. Oh, there are those in the media that think there is no way the Pack can turn Brett down if he wants to play and that the fans would crucify Thompson. That may be true but Thompson is calling the shots and IMO he is glad to be moving on past Favre. There is a time to move on from legends like Favre, Landry etc. and if the Pack is smart, they will get into their next franchise QB ASAP. This "I'm going to retire every year" crud is real old when you are trying to run an organization.

If he goes back Larry Allen may be a 1st ballot Hall of Famer after all.

I'd welcome Brett back for that reason alone. It woul dpiss me off to no end to see Larry Allen screwed.

Excellent point there. When I first read about the possible un-retirement, I groaned...

Not I'd be worried about the Packers. I think we can handle Farve. It would just be the season long Farvefest all over again.

But if it locks in LA for a first ballot. I'll take it. Nice perspective.

If the Packers release Favre, I guarantee that Minnesota would sign him. Can you imagine Favre Appreciation Night at Lambeau the first Monday night game this year and Favre is starting for the Vikings. Public RElations Nighmare of gigantic proportion. That would suck. Where is the gas pipe??? Send it to Florida.....

Edit-If Minny want to do a Herchel WAlker type deal, then I am all for it......

Remind them of the 47 Ints and 70% QB rating and 12 wins in 2005 and 2006.

We can agree to disagree on this one.

I think McCarthy is one of the coaches that TRULY runs his team.
