PFT: Favre Considering Comeback, per Mort

If he goes back Larry Allen may be a 1st ballot Hall of Famer after all.

I'd welcome Brett back for that reason alone. It woul dpiss me off to no end to see Larry Allen screwed.

After all?!

did i miss something?

Favre was good and well worthy of the HOF but there's NO WAY anyone in their right mind could put him inn over LA. Allen is one of the most dominant players ever to play the game

Right or not, if you don't think that Favre will be the face of his induction group then you are smoking some premire hashish.

He will no doubt and that's cool, but he's not the best ever at his position, you can make a strong argument that LA is

As I said... right or not. Favre's ticket to Canton is already printed.

And John Madden is squealing like a teenage girl at a Backstreet Boys concert over it. :laugh2:

Maybe Favre can see what the HOF class will look like in 5 years and wants to hog the spotlight so he comes back for one year.

Well if He comes back it should be to another team. The pack need to move on sooner or later and this will just hold them back. Although the NFC cHampionship game with Favre needs some respect.

You are kidding right. QB goes in over Olineman easily.

By the way, lets say you have Strahan, Favre and Allen. Why would those three not go in together? Why would Allen not be in the same class to go in?

Because LA is a Cowboy of course :D

If Favre comes back, will Strahan also? He would probably want to add to his sack total.

Well, maybe, but if you took Packer fans across the board and asked them who was their favorite player of all time you would get at least 50% saying Favre I would guess. If you took Cowboys fans and ask them who their favorite player of all time was you would get less than 5% Larry Allen.

I know that is not the way the Hall of Fame works but I am just staing the glory of the position and Favre makes it over Allen every day of the week if it came down to that.

Strahan will look to one up last year(missing training camp)... whats the latest he can join the Giants?

I could definitely see him coming back to play in the playoffs with the Giants. It would be good "sensational" story for Fox too.

I bet he has already considered it.

I've been posting this for years.

Underneath his gee-whiz, good ol' boy persona, Favre is a master manipulator of the media who hungers for publicity and attention.

No surprise here.

Only 5 can go in.

Favre
Seau
Ogden
Sapp
Strahan
Allen

I just believe if the HOF voters were going to shaft someone it would be LA. I have no faith in them at all.

Sapp and Seau aren't first ballot IMO

Somebody has been smoking the wacky weed. If the vote was FAvre and Allen and only one could get in, nobody in their right mind would vote Allen in over Favre. I doubt anybody outside of Cowboy fans could tell you what Allens uniform number was. Allen was great, but he was never the face of the Cowboys or the NFL the way FAvre was.

IT would only go down like that because QB is a glamour position. Favre didn't dominate his position the way Larry did. But guard/tackle doesn't get the recognition that QB does.

Also, it's voted on by media members who are enamored with Favre's horrifying battle against pain medications and sensitive teeth, but don't get all warm and fuzzy when Larry Allen gives them a 2-grunt interview at the end of every 4th game.

But when it comes to who dominated their position more? Larry - no question. Unfortunately, that criteria wouldn't matter much in the described scenario.

I reposted Chief's post above for FloridaRob in case he missed it the first time.

Your post is purely because perception has replaced reality. Allen was greater at his position than Favre. Not even debateable.
