Sapp and Seau aren't first ballot IMO
Really? I think you're letting a personal bias get in the way of the truth.

Brett Favre, 9 Pro Bowls, 7 All Pro

Junior Seau, 12 Pro Bowls, 7 All Pro

Larry Allen, 11 Pro Bowls, 7 All Pro

Michael Strahan, 7 Pro Bowls, 6 All Pro

Jonathan Ogden, 11 Pro Bowls, 9 All Pro

Warren Sapp, 8 Pro Bowls, 6 All Pro

Quick response... who cares about Brett "overrated" Favre. He was never one of my favorites to watch.

I do.

Whoa, slow down people! Living in Green Bay I saw something on local news last night that they're not including here. Channel 11, the local FOX station, threw up a quote last night basically stating that within the last couple of weeks the packers were contacted by Favre wanting a release and that the Packers refused. And then that Favre when contact afterwards denied it and asked, "what's the point?"

They were also getting ready to have another story about him that I didn't get to see but the catch-phrase did draw my interest.. Talking about whether or not the split between Favre and the Packers was as amiable as we were lead to believe. Something I've been interestingly wondering about myself- ever since he basically ended his career/retirement speech stating how he always wanted to be a Cowboy, not a Packer, and win Super Bowls, while growing up. That's a jab. You don't know the bloodlust for Cowboys they have. Nobody wanted to hear that!

My take; Packers didn't want him or Favre basically wanted out and the Packers wouldn't release or trade him, so he tries forcing their hand by retiring.

And personally, I think he wants to be a Cowboy. Even as a backup. To win that Super Bowl. To fulfill his childhood dream of becoming one of Us before it's all done. To go out on his terms, not the terms of a town he's been held hostage in for nearly 2 decades, and still remains. And, I mean, really, Brad Johnson? If there was any remote chance... Not one tutor better for Romo on this planet. AND capable insurance.

Wow, please don’t tease! :)

PFT says he wants to be a Carolina Panther. If FAvre wants to play and says he does not want to play in Green Bay then the FAns would accept him playing somewhere else. (with compensation of course) If Montana can play for KC, Emitt Smith can play for Arizona, Joe Namath can play for the Rams, Johnny Unitas can play for (can't remember his last team) then I guess FAvre can finish somewhere else. If he wants.

Now if he says he wants to play in Green Bay, then Ted Thompson has a major PR Nightmare he is going to have to deal with because it appears that TT is ready to move on without him....

edit-as long as that some place else is not MInny, Detroit, or Chicago.....

SAys you! And we know you are not exactly a Favre fan...So your preception is dismissed.

Its not that I am not a fan.... he gets too much credit for nothing.

Besides what I am saying is reality NOT "preception" :D

I've been posting this for years.

Underneath his gee-whiz, good ol' boy persona, Favre is a master manipulator of the media who hungers for publicity and attention.

No surprise here.

Yup, he's not camera shy, that's for sure.

Maybe I am biased but Sapp is a POS and it wouldn't bother be if he never got in to the HOF. I'll never get over that cheap shot he put on Chad Clifton.

Seau was a great player but I just don't see him as a first ballot HOF'er but then I didn't think Jim Kelly was either.

Maybe my standards are too high.

Me too man! This annual dog & pony show is ridiculous!

I like Favre but he really needs to quit with the annual theatrics...
