That’s the best GM in the NFL they say….he’s screwing up premium first rounders. Wow.
Actually, read somewhere after the Wentz failure, Lurie refused to fire him until he cleaned up his mess. From my understanding, after Wentz was traded, Rosemen wanted to find his replacement immediately coz he didn't see Hurts as franchiser QB but Lurie refused to sign off. Instead, he instructed Rosemen to surround Hurts with talent and see what happens. It's why Rosemen loaded up on draft capital if Hurts didn't work out, he could go after his franchise QB in the draft. Hurts pretty much saved his _______

Howie is just lucky enough to have an owner that will write plenty of checks for free agents.

Just look at last years roster and see who he drafted and who he didn’t.

Hargrave
Reddick
Slay
Bradbury
Gardner Johnson
Both starting LB’s

Just on defense.

None drafted by Howie. Just free agents and trades.

Drafting is only a part of the team building process. Belichick isn't a great drafter either.
Exactly. Howie has a bad record with 1st rounders, yet they already won one superbowl with him and were in another one with a completely different coach and qb. Free agency is every bit as important if not more important for finding talent than the draft.

Howie loves to get praised by the media. He loves when they say he moves around to get his guy.

Also, if a guy blows up the combine, Howie will try to get that guy because the media will say how great they are.

Jordan Davis last year. He is a part time, run stuffing DT that will always just play on first and second downs. He never has and never will effect the QB. For that, Howie traded up 2 picks in the first, and traded 3!other picks with it to get Davis.

Why? Because he ran really fast for a fat guy at the combine. And because he’s from a big SEC school.

It is like cat nip for Howie. He can’t resist.
Biggest con man in sports.

Did I say drafting was all a GM does?
Well excuuuuuuuuussssssse me, you were pointing out his drafting as a reason he is not the best GM in the NFL. And I do think that cat in SEA will give him a run for that title.

You should have read the whole thread because I also said that he gets a lot of free agents and makes a lot of trades, which he does.

I was talking about drafting because the thread is about him drafting a player.

Between the racing incident and being out of shape for testing it’s apparent the kid has some massive immaturity issues. Going to be interesting how he handles pro level players the first time he gets hit in the mouth!
Well before that you’re going to have to see how he handles being handed millions of dollars. Immature, lazy, and suddenly rich does not make for a NFL success story. He will have to mature quickly and decide to get to work or he will soon be a punchline albeit a rich one.

If I am Kirby Smart, I am all over my coaching staff because you know who else was listening to those coaches? Recruits and their families and what do these coaches have to gain by slamming a player to potential drafters? Bad form, really bad form. Doesn't matter whether it's true or not, just really bad form and I used to like that team.
IDK C, it's rare, very rare when a coach refuses to sugarcoat one of his player's issues. How often we hear, he's not a bad kid, just a little immature and so on. On the flip side, all this may have opened his eyes and he now realizes how quickly his dream can disappear. Let's hope that is case.

But he cried going to the podium…
Probably realizing how close he came to losing it all. Like I just said, hopefully, he's learned his lesson and understands everything is right in front of him, only he can mess it up.
