Surprise surprise!

Jerry FINALLY realizing that Romo was carrying the offense, defense, entire coaching staff AND owner on his back. We collapse like a card house when Romo goes down. We all knew that already. I'm really pissed Jerry squandered Romo's youthful years with horrible decisions.

Sadly it won't be the only career. Tyron Smith, Dez Bryant, Zack Martin. Twenty years and we haven't come close to competing for a championship....don't see that changing with the current leadership model in place.

If I were Jerry, I would hire two new QB coaches (bye Wade), since there is no limit on how many coaches you can hire. One to work with the starter and the other focused on grooming the backup(s). I would give Linehan total control of the offense and game management and keep JG as the motivator/figurehead, while lessening his overall game day involvement. I keep Pollack and Rod.

This let's Jerry spank JG, while keeping him as a figurehead. If JG doesn't like it, he is free to walk away from 5 million/year, which he won't get anywhere else. I would lay down the law early, maybe even this year if we are eliminated from the playoffs. Any pushback from JG, means Sean Payton marches in to take over...Which is why I want this done as early as possible.

Most of the teams they played were bad....ATL, NO, Tampa. Amazing they could only win one.

Yep, and outside of the Atlanta game the D have held teams to what 13 Hawks, 10 Bucs, 20 NO, 20 Gents, 10 Philly, 14 Miami, etc.

Those are pretty awesome numbers there!

If anybody watched the video of Jerry's post game comments he was gushing about the defense. He must have aaid it 5 times. So Marinelli is safe.

He was also very telling about Dez. He said when Dez finally got a full week of practice and when he does he's ready. IMO he's probably pissed that he just signed him for 70 million and barely seen him. This whole offense should be built around him, especially now with a backup QB.

But if you think that canning a WR coach, or Oline coach is going to do anything your crazy.

Seems like Callahan's leaving made a difference.

Jerry: "I have lived through others far too long. Romo carried my honor and Wade Phillips my guilt. Jason bore my sins. My players and coaches have fought my causes.
Now, my dear fans...

...I shall be GM."

Shamelessly taken from Excalibur, the movie.

Quarterbacks coach is in charge of making sure backup quarterbacks are properly prepared and evaluated, right? Nobody ever mentions this as a position that should be looked at. And to me its the most obvious.

QB coach should have had the accurate evaluation of Weeden. And he should have let the OC and the HC know that Weeden was not a player to count on. He had most of two years with Weeden practicing every Wednesday with the first team while Romo rested. Plenty of time to get the proper evaluation and communicate it up the chain.

Didn't Cassel say he had nobody to coach him when he first got here? What does our QB coach get paid for? What does he actually do? Lol

It did, and Jerry really liked him as he always gushed about what great coach he was.

This offense must be changed. If not expect more of the same.

Btw just looked this stat up TO Ratio- Carolina #1 at +14, we are last at -14!

I think a problem with the whole figurehead thing, is that even though some things may improve, others will get worse. The HC is the one who has to tie it all together, and have final say in the locker room. If he's not someone the players will believe in and follow, they'll fall apart. Players will start to openly question why he's there. Assistant coaches will wonder why they're still assistants, and some figurehead is the HC. I don't see that as a successful model. I can't think of one team that has had success like that. Either he's the man in charge, and everyone knows it, or he should be gone.

So he should be gone then

Oh, I'm very away of the wickedly bad turnover ratio.

And then on top of that you have the huge number of pick-6's and the special teams TD that was given up.

That's a sure way to be lousy record.

I just don't see how you can just blame this all on Romo being out. I know that changed things big time, but our D and O have been healthy, outside of Dez. Now that's huge, but still. The Oline has been there all year.

Great coaches don't have off years, and if they do they might be 10-6 9-7.

When Jerry starts saying things like this in public, the writing is on the wall.

He's giving JG an ultimatum. Coach 'em up and win some games or he'll find a friend that he thinks can

I pray to the football gods that we can replace JG with Sean Payton after this year. Or at the very least rid us of the clapping clueless ginger

Jerry runs about with his country colloquialisms and witticisms, deflecting criticicm to others that is and always will be squarely in his lap. He's tried to "BR549" his way through it, but nobody's buying Junior Sample's used cars.

There is no justified blame anywhere that remotely compares to the giant steaming pile of sewage he's poured over this organization for 20 years. Jason Garrett is tasked to navigate an aircraft carrier with a pole and bed sheets for sails, and he's done remarkably well.

Yes, they should have one a game or two during Romo's absence. In fact, they should have appeared in an NFC Championship game or five in the past 20 years, but Jerry has caddywonked his way from that happening.

I'm not blaming it all on Romo being out.

I never stated that.
