Well he is a name we have heard of, but you need to see him fit in before you make any conclussions. they Jets have a pretty smart front office, so maybe they know something.

BTW on ES I have seen people say Kendall is a upgrade over Dockery and how he is already considered a good starter despite not stepping on the practice field yet. I wonder how many skin fans would have ranked Kendall over Dockery last year when Dock was a skin?

BTW, LOL at the Skin fans who made arguments that Todd Wade was a better guard than Leonard Davis this offseason.

Dayum, the Skins actually made a good move... Kendall's not a stud, but he's better than anything they had to line up at guard...

Come on Bear ..... a 34 year old second string lineman who they are giving a raise too for a 4th rounder?

This is just the same old same old from the skins.

This seems like a pretty good move.

Kendall seems like a good character guy...

...and he's ONLY 34.

He could definitely be a core Commander for years. Unlike Derrick Dockery.
:laugh2: Worst, most hackneyed phrase ever...

But like Theebs said, the patchwork, spit-and-baling wire construction continues. Imagine if the Skins hadn't absolutely flushed those picks on T.J. Duckett? They could have a nice young guard with talent to plug in right now.

But I'm sure the Skins "F.O." knows best.

I see this as a good and bad move. Probably good for this season, but I hate giving up draft picks. I also hate giving up money and roster spots to aging veterans. Rivera is a good example of why.

isnt it interesting that until an hour ago the Commanders didnt have a left guard issue and now they are all wiping their brows because their left guard is fixed....?

again, reading x-skins, which I cant believe I am reading, they are acting like a 4th rounder is no big deal.....unbelievable.

I was reading there too and I can't believe they are happy it was "only" a 4th for a guy that is 34 years old.....and it is reported that he got his $1 million dollar raise.

Hopefully they overpaid for another ageing veteran , 34 years old been in the league 11 years.

Little Napoleon just cannot help himself.

are you serious??? and to think we have fans that think GM Jones sucks. as long as snyder is around the best jones can be is a distant VERY distant 2nd.

I don't think we have a 4th rounder though, it's either a 5th rounder this year or a 4th rounder next year - knowing how Mr Cerrato works, it's probably both haha. ;)

I will be surprised if it is a 4th round pick. I believe the Skins don't have a fourth this year. I would think it would make sense if it is a fifth round pick. Kendall probably didn't have much value on the open market and I will be surprised if they got a potentially high fourth for him.

Everything you say is true, but their options were Mike Pucillo or Todd Wade...

Yup, Kendall is an upgrade over that dreck... I'm not saying he makes their line good now, but it's not as bad as it was yesterday...

They had a gaping hole, they filled it, and all it cost them was a 4th rounder...

Giving a 4th rounder for a guy who is a 34 year old guard and who was demoted to second string on the team he just left.

How many pro bowls has he been in again?

He was demoted because of behavior not performance.

There's also been some credible "insiders" who've been saying that they are trying to ship Portis - who knows whether or not it will happen though.

What did the Skins trade this year's 4th for??

Knowing the Skins, they probably gave up a first for Kendall... :D

some comments from ES...this is only from ONE page on the signing. There is a lot more funny stuff if you want to look. Maybe it will work out for them but how many skins fans were propping Kendall before the signing?

* If we get Kendall for a fifth and $2.7M we are getting a STEAL. He is the reason their line was so good last year. He brings a lot of veteran cohesion to the group and is worth far more. He is an UPGRADE from Dock and instantly makes our line the best in the league(assuming Samuels can be 90%+ by opening day). If you've watched the Jets preseason games, their line has looked pretty poor, but especially D'brickashaw. When out there on his own he looks lost and is getting beaten consistently. Without Kendall he is nothing. With Kendall, our line will be a force. He is aged, but performed amazingly last year and there is no reason to expect a dropoff.

* We just transformed the most glaring weak point on our offense into a solid starter with the addition of PK at LG. For only a 4th round pick (2009)? I think it is a steal. This guy is a 12 year veteran so learning the system/cohesiveness with the rest of line can easily be accomplished in 2.5 weeks before the season opener.

* I feel like this is an Over the Hill gang that has a chance. It's pretty incredible - Jason Campbell is being surrounded by high-class veterans and stellar coaches. Despite our 5-11 season last year, I think Gibbs has done a lot of good for JC's development. No matter what happens, our franchise will be left with some fantastic pieces in place when Gibbs moves on. Our players are old, but are young players are studs and are being trained by some of the best (albeit slightly washed up) players in the league. This move was the final piece of the puzzle in my book.

Super Bowl.

* Gibbs is getting old. He's won THREE super bowls and is in the Hall of Fame.

YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT WE'RE MAKING OURSELVES A WIN-NOW TEAM.

34 year old guy on his last legs ..... the Skins give up a 4th and give him a raise.

Brilliant!

Ok, here's the info from an insider:

"Not a 4th in 08, conditional based on performance."

Good move by the Skins.
