I hope this guy turns out to be good. Diggs broke out his sophomore year. But Diggs got massive reps his rookie year and had more meaningful reps in college.

This is just doesn’t cut it for me.

Do you have to wait for a cop to be found guilty before suspending him for a bad shooting?

What if you have an employee that you find out is a peodophile running kids parties, does he keep his job until the guilty verdict?

Innocent until proven guilty might be the law and decide you freedom but it’s not the standard for retaining employment or forming an opinion… and nor should it be.
To be fair, the difference is that a cop is assigned desk duty or suspended with pay until the matter is resolved, one way or the other, because they want to keep him off the street, where he could exacerbate the situation...or even interfere with the investigation.

If you somehow found yourself in this situation (yes, yes, I know you wouldn't, but just try to imagine it) would it be fair for your boss to tell you to stay home until they decide whether or not you're guilty?

It looks really bad, and I agree that he looks guilty, but that's not the way this country works.

MURICA!!!

Just curious but if he were a player for another East team, still giving him the benefit of the doubt?

The uniform doesn't matter to me as I went through the dawn of awakening with players like Rentzel, Septien, Carter, Brent, Goodrich, Irvin, the white house, and questions about Elliott and Hardy. I will never let the uniform slant innocence.

This guy was present when a murder was committed and only fessed up when he was forced to and ratted out his companions. That is not the type person I will ever be a fan of and the fact he is a Cowboy is the only reason I think some are playing that 'benefit of a doubt" card.

Innocent until proven guilty? His lawyer admitted he was present and did not come forth. He has already admitted to guilt of that fact. That would be enough for me to fire him. Think this guy has any character issues? The alarm is going off and the message sent loud and clear to the team, we'll use bad apples trying to make our pie.

McC was saying was he was ordered to say.

I believe that what you're saying is probably right, but because we don't actually know everything that happened, why it happened, or in what order, I'm waiting until the whole truth comes out before forming a final opinion. I'm guessing it is what it looks like, and he'll walk away uncharged, then the league will suspend him for conduct detrimental, and he'll end up keeping his job.

Best case, he made a really bad decision and bad decisions get people fired.

The NFL has remained quiet except for monitoring the situation but unless something drastically different than what we already are aware of comes to light. he has no choice but to suspend him. You can bet Goodell and the league office people that deal with this have heard from every owner.

Does Goodell use the same model they used with Ray Lewis? Hell, he was actually implicated in that murder with unanswered questions. Sure wouldn't be the first time the law let someone sing for a get out of jail free card.

The "drastic" part is what I'm thinking about, and actually hoping for. It seems incredibly unlikely, but I'm hoping there were extenuating circumstances that each and every one of us will look at, and think, "Ohhhhh, okay! Yeah, I would've done the same thing." I wouldn't bet a dollar on that being the case, but stranger things have happened, albeit not often.

I don't want this kid to turn out to be a schmuck, regardless of the jersey he wears. This world has enough schmucks and jackasses already.

I mean if he didn’t commit the crime and snitched on those who did (they ended up getting arrested) then legally he’s in the clear. He’s probably been granted immunity for his testimony which is pretty common.

Morality and ethics aside if we are talking about his legal ability to play he should be fine based on the current information we have. Now he could definitely get a 4-6 game conduct detrimental suspension but that’s not going to alter their plans for him.

Snitched...come one, he did his moral and rightful obligation.
He did the right thing.

If he’s guilty of anything from info we have it’s poor judgement in choice of people he’s with, fight etc. I don’t think criminally he’s in trouble but he is a guy who I think may be trouble from a commitment/trouble standpoint. Kind of like early Zeke with “what did he do now.”

I don’t think fans or media don’t think he will play again. Most of fans/media want Jerry to take a stand and cut the kid. They feel that there should be some kind of punishment because a young life was lost. I will admit I have an issue with Joseph and still feel kind of slimy. The reality is that it appears there will not be any criminal charges. It will be interesting to see how the league attempts to discipline Joseph under the personal conduct policy.

It will be guilt by association from the NFL office and fans and media. As usual. And as usual punishment will be overboard for a Dallas player. As others would get less, or nothing at all.
Like proof the NYG K bet his wife or girlfriend, and nothing was done, or was it 1 game. As to where no proof of Zeke, but he gets 6 games.

Fans act like they have perfect lives and look down upon mistakes, he is guilty of hanging with the wrong crowd for now. Need to see how it all plays out.
I don't have any thoughts of this or him as a player actually. I hope he learns from this and disassociate's himself from that lifestyle, and focus on football.
But I won't lose any sleep if he is released.

Yeah and that information is his crew kills people.

I think it's very possible for someone to get caught up in a situation that he's not in favor of.

Here's hoping for more info to come forth, so that everyone feels favorable to his presence.

If it's not destined to be in the cards at some point in the future, we'll just have to live with it.

https://brettpodolsky.com/general-l...to prosecution. Mandatory Reporting of Crimes

In some states, failing to report certain crimes is actually a criminal offense. For example, it is against the law in Texas to fail to report a felony crime. This means that if a person witnesses a felony in progress and decides not to notify the police, that person may be subject to prosecution.

The legal penalties for failure to report a felony crime can be serious. By punishing those who fail to report felonies, law enforcement departments are trying to get people to take an active role in crime prevention. Some penalties include:

a Class A misdemeanor conviction
a term of up to one year in jail
a fine of up to $4000

And this is in addition to any action the NFL commissioner make take.

No matter each fan's view and opinion on each factor - the player, the situation, the team's stance, the league's ruling - expect no definite decisions until the case is resolved.
I expect nothing happening soon = not before preseason ends.

I associate not going to police and and pleading the fifth to be along the same lines...you're hiding information.

I've seen these high profile court cases where high profile individuals plead the fifth many times...even your beloved military personnel do it.

But Joseph is the devil when he doesn't talk and needs to be put away for ever.. even when not a single person here knows if he had the intent to harm or kill that night.

Nit a single one of you know that. Joseph is the devil though. You're only allowed to kill for oil. Makes sense.

Sure does seem like some posters here are promoting trapping people. Because that's fair and alright

The excuse making in this thread is pathetic.

People know jack chit about this guy and his upbringing but immediately go to some cultivated narrative steeped in bigotry made to treat grown men and women like children. And yeah- I've got friends from Baton Rouge. Been in multiple drug dealer's houses in Baton Rouge.

"I ain't saying it's right, but I understand." Then you're saying there are different rules for different people. If Jerry Jones was in that car and didn't go to the police until after being publicly identified, who here would try to point to an excuse for him?

Oh, Kelvin is scared of these thugs threatening him? The guy who's already made $3.9 million is afraid of street thugs? He doesn't trust police? Get outta here with those LAME excuses.

Kelvin has been a star athlete since he was a junior in high school. He's so privileged he was able to screw up at 2 different colleges and still get drafted into the NFL and is now a millionaire. Sorry. I believe regardless of where you grew up, you have an obligation to report murder.

But you don't know if he had intent to kill or harm.

Lots of people hang around people that carry guns. Lots of people get into altercations or their friends get into altercations.

He's the devil though. Seems reasonable
