Would be great, but not happening. There are a lot of teams with a ton of cap space that will make sense for him to sign a big contract with...Bears, Giants, Bengals, Ravens, Seahawks, Patriots will all be going after him.

Giants have no need for him. Lawrence and Williams are beast and under contract next season. Lawrence will get paid, but has a cap hit of $12 million

Maybe but that still leaves several other teams that will be going after him with suitcases of cash.

Jerry prefers to pay for underperformers and get bargains with lower tier players to show he is doing something. Then "Mr. Cap" Stephen kicks in and talks about how great they are doing with the books.

I do too

Daron Payne is someone who can wreck a game without registering one tackle or one stat from the DT position and would instantly make our defense complete

yes complete because once you have a dominate force upfront at the DT position everything else falls in line
Who wouldn’t want him? But is that the guy you put that much money into? He’s gonna get paid like a double digit sack guy. An interior player getting double digit sacks is gonna get 20 mil or so. And is he a double digit sack guy? He’s done it once in a contract year
I’d love to have him but not sure that’s the one guy I spend big on because you aren’t spending that much on him and adding anything else

Evidently, Micah Parsons doesn't keep up with what the salary cap implications are.
Players don’t think about cap
Me and Micah could probably come up with 4-5 guys who could change this team but how could you afford them?

When will our players realize the more they lobby for a player, the more Jerry will be determined to not get that player? Jerry must take full credit for all decisions.

So in other words someone Cowboy fans would ***** about because there aren't 20 sacks next to his name.

Micah Parsons wants Daron Payne on the Cowboys

Posted by Mike Florio on February 11, 2023, 11:42 AM EST

Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons, one of our favorite in-person player-guests, joined PFT Live from Radio Row in Phoenix for a wide-ranging discussion about football generally — and about his team specifically.

When the time came to ask Parsons what he’d like to see the team do to improve in 2023, he didn’t hesitate.

Parsons wants Washington defensive tackle Daron Payne in Dallas. (In the attached photo, Parsons is perhaps making his case directly to Payne.)

Payne is due to be a free agent in March. And it’s unlikely that he’ll be available, given that the Commanders can use the franchise tag to hold him in place, if they don’t work out a long-term deal.
Parsons is asking for anyone who can help stop the run game against the the Cowboys.
