Bulger isn't being benched. He's not playing so his ribs can heal and because they don't want their franchise qb decapitated behind an injury riddled line. It's hard to breathe deeply with broken ribs much less play qb in the NFL. Bulger will be back when he's healthy.

On NFLN yesterday I heard that Linehan intends to still play Bulger because even an injured Bulger gives the team a better chance to win than Frerotte.

Such a statement speaks volumes about the latter.

Well, it's being confirmed by the St. Louis Dispatch now. So it looks like PFT got the scoop .... yet again.

If the Dolphins had anyone worth squat behind Green he would have been benched as well after his 4 INT performance against us in week-2.

All they have behind Trent Green is Cleo Lemon and John Beck so they are stuck with Green. I guess after Culpepper's performance last Sunday they wish they would have held onto him.

I do. Not a doubt in my mind Bulger is a far better QB than Frerotte, but he needs to be healthy.

Green was done last year after that hit he took. I'm surprised this year. He has played better than I thought. He is still done however.

You just don't need an unhealthy Bulger playing.

Maybe the Rams should fire their O-line coach. They are decimated by injuries this year, but this line also allowed Bulger to be sacked 49 times last year. It goes deeper than injuries. They talked about how Martz did not do enough to protect his QBs. I don't think things have changed that much since he left.

Hard to find a bigger riches to rags story than the Rams this year. They had more total yards from scrimmage than any team in the NFL last year, and Bulger had more passing yards than Peyton. Now he's being benched after the first month of the season.

The Norv Turner Affect in San Diego has to be up there....

In Sunday's 35-7 victory over St. Louis, five Rams were listed on the post-game injury list, including guard Adam Goldberg, linebacker Raonnal Smith, receiver Isaac Bruce, defensive end Leonard Little and safety Corey Chavous.


And this comes after Miami lost lost Pro Bowl linebacker Zach Thomas to a concusion in the Week 2 blowout. The Cowboys set the tone of adding injury to insult in what is becoming weekly routs by sending four Giants to the sidelines in the 45-35 season-opening victory. That list included quarterback Eli Manning, running back Brandon Jacobs, cornerback Kevin Dockery and defensive end Osi Umenyiora.
