You are way off base here Oh Canada. And a mid 90's Qb rating compared to a mid 80's is a big deal, learn the game then come back to play.

You do realize that Peyton Manning 's rating in his first three years was just slightly over 80....and Cutler is at 88 correct? He also happens to have three years on Romo in case you missed that.

Learn to read stats than come back to play.

I'll bet that he still doesn't even making the playoffs by then. He'll cost you more games than help you. He made some horrible decisions down the stretch that caused them to choke out of the playoffs. I know the D was horrible, but I can remember 3 picks that he threw that changed the outcomes of those games.

He's decent. Don't get phased by his big arm.

If that is your reasoning for not getting Cutler, I don't see how it helps your reasoning for keeping Tony.

Well....he won a single game LESS than our QB with ZERO running game, no tight end and a horrific defense.
And one of the best Offensive coaches in league history and an amazing offensive line vs. Red Jesus and the Turnstiles. In the AFC West with the Raiders and Chiefs too.

So what he is pissed at his coach who is trying to trade him...I would be too...rather have that than a QB who runs off to Mexico in the middle of a playoff push.
He can be pissed all he wants, but the public tantrum is pretty damn immature. Although I will grant the Cabo thing was stupid too.

Cutler is a phenomenal talent, who is just starting to scratch the immense potential he has...I think we might have already seen the best of Romo.

And the best we have with Romo is among the best in the league. To me you are throwing the baby out with the bathwater on the 'potential' that Cutler might be something better.

Cutler has done nothing to indicate he will be better than Romo, other than maybe fumble less, and getting chased around the pocket constantly has a lot do with that. I'd say give me a year or two of Romo under Shanahan instead of the current clowns before I declare his potential to have been reached. A lot of people thought it was reached at Eastern Illinois.

So you are now saying Cutler is the next Peyton? You tell me to learn to read stats and you give false information on Peyton's rating. 2nd year 90.7, 3rd year 94.7...like I said you have a lot of catching up to do to be able to play with the big boys. Poor Oh Canada! Romo has put up a 95.1, 97.4 and his lowest of 91.4 with Cutler not even sniffing a 90.

And we should trade a perfectly good starting QB, one who many teams would kill for, based on that assumption.

He may or may not be...but just because he isn't quite at Romo's stat level now doesn't mean he won't be in the very near future.

Maybe I am down on Romo because I percieve him to be a little too soft...but I just think Cutler is the type of talent who doesn't come around very often and I would make the trade if he was available.

Sometimes you have to make hard choices to go from good to great....this would be one of those times.

Maybe we can have this discussion when he gets near Romo's play?

And if Cutler remains nothing but Cutler, then... what?

I see your point, but to me it is so hard to find a QB at Romo's level you don't throw that away for 'potential'. There is no reason we can't win with a 94.7 career rated QB with a 2-1 TD/INT ratio and 63% completion rate. None. Well other than bad coaching.

The Mannings and Brady's only come around so often and its anything but a lock that Cutler turns into one - far from it. Other than age, there is nothing Cutler demonstrably has on Romo right now. And I say this liking Cutler a whole lot as well.

Its irrelevant anyway as Denver wouldn't take on a $67M contract for a guy 3 years older, and there you are right Cutler is way more valuable.

Cutler is damn good, but Im not ready to throw Tony away. So, if the scenario ever came up where we could make a clean swap, I wouldnt take it.

Will Denver send Cutler to Cleveland for Rogers, Quinn?

Maybe the Denver Broncos really do want to trade Jay Cutler. Broncosfreaks.com is reporting a deal may already be in place that would send Cutler to the Cleveland Browns for quarterback Brady Quinn, unhappy nose tackle Shaun Rogers and a third-round pick.
Media reports over the past couple weeks have indicated that Cleveland coach Eric Mangini is not overly impressed with Quinn. Rogers, feeling snubbed by Mangini on two different occasions, has asked to be traded. As the reported noted, the trade makes sense.
For Denver, there is a lack of quality nose tackles available on the free agent market and in the draft. Also, reports out of Denver indicate Cutler is unwilling to meet with the front office and coaching staff.

I could see that happening. Wouldn't predict it, but wouldn't shock me either.
