Campbell has had multiple valid excuses:
1- A new system every year
2- His top wide receiver is Santana Moss
3- He has a pathetic excuse of an offensive line that college D-lines could wreck havok on (an exaggeration but not far from the truth)
4- Heck the best asset the team gives him is an slightly below average running game, atleast it isn't terrible!
Campbell has had all the negative things against him, and in Eli Mannings career he has had alot of the greatest things you could ask for. Is Eli Manning a better QB than Campbell? You bet. If put in the same situation Eli Manning was for his entire career would Campbell be a good QB? I'd put my money on it.
So to clarify that was an exaggeration I have posted it before, but Jason Campbell is not a bad QB, you can put almost any QB taking those snaps and that team will still lose.
QB is not there biggest problem, infact I would bet if you broke down that team it would actually be one of the stronger points of the team :laugh1: Honestly during this draft if they go QB they are making a mistake, take Okung or trade down and grab multiple top O-Line prospects.
I'm not going to sit and debate Jason Campbell and why he is so terrible with you for very long, but you need to ask yourself how a QB with no former NFL experience like Sanchez in 2009 and Flacco and Ryan in 2008 can have so much success in their
first NFL season and yet a guy who has been around as long as Campbell can't overcome playing in the
second season of Zorn's west coast offense.
Having a new offense simply isn't an excuse.
I guarantee you if the Commanders WR's had a different QB throwing them the ball... nobody would think they are so terrible.
By the same token, if the Commanders O-Line wasn't trying to protect a guy who takes 60 seconds to diagnose what a defense is doing on any given play, their sacks and pressures given up would drop significantly. Do you remember how terrible our O-Line was at protection when Bledsoe was at QB? Did you see how better they looked with a quick thinking, hair trigger QB started playing?
As for how terrible the offense looks (#4 on your list)... well, again you can't expect anyone on that offense to look good with Campbell playing QB. It isn't an accident that you said the only thing they gave him was a half-decent running game, because Jason doesn't have to make a decision in handing the ball off. Heck, he still manages to hurt the run game though because the defense can crowd the line of scrimmage to stop the run. All coordinators have to do is to take away Campbell's first read and then they can focus on stopping the run.
Your view that Campbell has reasons for his immense suckitude is an overly-simplified, short-sighted way of making excuses.
