Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee still hasn't made a firm decision, but his future seems to be pointed toward a return. During an appearance on KTCK "The Ticket," Lee said he's s...

I'm wondering if he can be the strong side lb - it's maybe 35% of the total snaps so although strong side is more wear, it is substantially fewer snaps. I'd keep his deal as is if he could play there - it's a 4 mill difference the keep vs. cut. He's a huge part of LVE and Jaylon's development, so to me, some of that money is well spent on keeping him.

It doesn't seem to me like we're willing (or able?) to move him or one of the other linebackers to the third linebacker position. I absolutely do not understand why when he came on the field either Jaylon or (mainly) LVE went off.

Unless that changes, then I can't see him returning next year. I'd love to see him in a limited role on the field at the same time as Smith and Vander Esch, but if we're not going to do that then there's no way we keep him as a glorified sub.

This narrative needs to stop.

Once LVE took off, Lee didn't play. When he returned in week 15 he barely saw the field. Inactive Week 16. He played after LVE was hurt week 17. Did nothing against the Seahawks. Honestly the only time he really took time from LVE was against the Rams - Our D was gassed and LVE was getting abused.

But yeah, blame the team for not planning some radical revision to Lee's role when he's not practicing.

Didn't LVE have the flu for the game? Think that is why Lee played so much.

So he wants to collect millions just to spend more time with the trainers and medical staff? That's a sweet deal. Dude needs to stop playing and transition to coaching. It's time.

I’ve seen enough. He’s lost just that little edge that made him #50 for the tackle. All 3 last games he played it was the same thing. Either a step late to the party,or couldn’t get off a block.or couldn’t make the tackle. Not doing this LVE sitting on the bench, while the offense gracefully glides down the field in unison business again. I’m for the youth movement, and bringing in more LBs at depth.

You guys act like injuries don't happen, his deal is very team friendly getting rid of him would be just plain stupid. We have been lucky regardless of record how healthy we have been in relation to the rest of the NFL, most homers won't know that though.

That's a ridiculous statement. Injuries do happen, but how many players suffer near as many injuries and miss as many games? His body just can't take it anymore, but his mind is just fine. He needs to be coaching

He would be a great LB coach :hammer:
I dunno. I feel like if he was any good at communicating how to play the LB position better, all those times when he got hurt and his replacements were terrible wouldn't have gone so poorly. I suspect his success was mostly due to his instincts, and he can't tell other LBs how to develop that gift.

I'm not arguing that his contract is based on playing time and it really isn't to big if he doesn't play much.

Sean's not the same. Age comes on slowly for some players...hits others in the face. I don't see Lee on the Cowboys next year.

Hate it but reality.

He'll be a big success in whatever he decides to do next. I look forward to watching that story.

One of the beat writers tweeted we would only accept him back as a backup and pay cut.

And if LVE gets injured? Who goes in? Lee is depth, so it wasn't a ridiculous statement at all.
