News: PFT: Source: Romo won’t have surgery, will miss 8 weeks

Good News then. Something about this team that makes me think we'll still be in the thick of things when both he and Dez return.
Have to give cred to JG on the mentality we have to "step up and play for the missing man".

do they have Ian Rapaport working for them ?

I see they're "player ratings " for the games and i think they're a joke. But we'll see. Romo himself said yesterday "8 weeks".

You are thinking PFF (Pro Football Focus) for the player ratings. PFT is 'Pro Football Talk'. Different group.

Given the short turnaround between the Phins and Panthers game, I would think thanksgiving would be the earliest.

I would agree but I think it will depend on how Weeden and the team are playing too. If we must have a win in that Fin game and Tony can go, he will. If we are sitting good and Weeden has played decent to good, then I think Tony sits until Panthers.

correct, this is the "Dez has a video out there and we will run with that story" group.

What really sucks is I just received my tickets for the Seattle game. My kids are so down they will not be able to see Romo or Dez (possibly) play. :(

My first ever Cowboys game was in St. Louis (2008?) when Brad Johnson started over an injured Romo. I was pretty bummed too, and they lost to the hapless Rams which really sucked.

There. Their. They're. Pick the right one.

Player ratings have nothing to do with having sources.

8 weeks, with a bye in there, is 7 games. If Weedon can go 4-3, we will be 6-3 heading into the final stretch. That will do, especially as Dez will be back about the same time.

:hammer:

I jusr heard on local espn radio in Dallas that he will have surgery. Whats up??

love this Jerry comment on victory Monday morning:

Jerry Jones: "The good news is we've got some kids in here...who are gnawing the leg off the chair to get out there."

Gotta love that man.

I would think the Panthers would be more of a must win that the Dolphins (conference game) and the team would not want to rush him back even if Weeden is playing just to have him play a bigger must win game 4 days later.

That's my biggest fear, that we don't get to see their favorite players and we lose the game. The cost to see a game is the same as a 4 day trip to the Caribbean, I would much rather be sitting on a beach with a drink in my hand than to have to fly back home depressed because we lost a game (especially if we lose because of the QB situation).

All in all about what I expected.

Frankly I was nervous when they were doing a CT scan because maybe they thought there was potentially significant damage beyond just the bone break itself (ligaments, muscles, etc).

I beleive the CT scan is for bone only. They would have done an MRI for soft tissue.

We are gonna need thes young guys to step up and fill the gaps. I just hope that Weeden's exposure to the playbook and time with the first string becomes an advantage to effectively manage the game and let's us lean on the defense to win some low scoring games. We definitely can't afford to get into a shoot out.

I "liked" your post. But if we had a button that allowed us to "empathize", such as what Facebook is brewing up, it would have been a "dislike."
