I love these statements.

Yes, there is a way we carry four backs.
Too many positions on this where we have guys on the bubble that play harder spots to find talent. Example the safeties, wr, te. We very well could keep 4 backs, I don't see why we would though. Maybe one becomes trade bait

If Tanner keeps this up, he'll be #2 right behind Demarco Murray. You don't cut guys that run with that kind of passion.

Tanner sure is making the RB decision difficult. Hard to cut a guy who playes like that tonight. We need to see him against the 1st stringers the next several games.

All four backup RBs looked pretty good. Good competition.

Well all of that usually just means the OL had a good day, which is what happened. Dunbar will have problems with protection, its easier for a scat back like him to look good in camp but when the real hitting starts he better be special.....and I don't think Dunbar is that special.

I still figure it will end up being Murray, Randle, then Tanner.....Randle just is a more complete package than Tanner, and it will begin to show.

Guys a horse. Hard runner. I never understood why he doesnt get more of a chance in reg season.

all RB's looked good tonight.

more of a testimant to the OL than the RBs.

I'm not really a big fan of Dunbar honestly...I'd rather keep Tanner as the 3rd RB/short-yardage RB and then try to stash Dunbar or Kendial Lawrence on the practice squad.

We will keep 4 backs. Backs get injured easily so keeping 4 is never a bad idea when 2 could go out in a single game especially with Murray as the starter. Tanner is also a good special teams player and is a pretty sure tackler on kickoffs etc.

I think they will keep 4 backs and 4 tight ends but only 5 receivers.

Ha, maybe we should wait a bit longer than the HOF game before making this call?

I agree, but after the last couple of seasons, I think if the Oline can stay healthy, this team could have decent depth at RB. But let's be real, it really does depend on that oline.

Dunbar looks good too. Looks like Randle will be the #4.

Randle looked really good too, what are talking about? Plus let's not act like this is the first time Phillip Tanner has played good in the PreSeason

I think how quickly they got Dunbar out of the game along with the stories you have had heard about him in camp tell you all you need to know about his status.

No way he doesn't make the team.

Tanner is the only guy that needs to worry. They'll either keep 4 RB's or cut Tanner.

I don't think there is really a debate, everything I've heard/read is pointing to Dallas carrying 4 RBs.... But who knows

Dunbar gives Dallas a nice option as a receiver out of the backfield, I think he is our best option in the 4 minute offense and 2 minute drill because of that. I haven't heard any problems with him as far as picking up rushers so I don't know if that true, but if it is that's a big problem.

I love watching Tanner. The kid just runs hard. He might not have the best vision but the kid makes up for it by running hard. I like him.

I thought he made some impressive cuts tonight actually.

If you want a guy who can come in and carry the load if Murray is hurt again, I don't think that's Dunbar. He's got some nice moves and he is certainly quick but he doesn't look like an every down back to me. I also don't think that's Randle, at this point. He doesn't run behind his pads and he is not the guy who is going to get you those tough yards between the tackles. He may develop into that guy but he's not that guy now. I think he would be on the shelf before very long if he had to carry the load. I think Tanner is the only guy that I watched last night who could be that guy. JMO.

I'd normally agree, but, if the guy plays this hard every week, you can't cut a player like that. He either boots Dunbar (unlikely) or Randle, who also looked pretty good.

No way they cut Randle. We either go 4 deep or make a cut no one really wants to see right now.

Not really, the OL looked really in sync and tough, yes, but a lot of the good runs tonight came after contact or by good cuts by the backs. They all ran extremely hard, they must have been watching Demarco

"Yeah he missed quite a few holes today, but there is a place for a hard running back even if they don't have good vision. "

Watch the run before the TD. I believe Fred pulled, sealed his guy and Tanner ran directly away from the block and into the defender.
