Philly allows an average of 17.6 ppg

I just feel like our defense is better.

It may be but we’re still going to need more offense to beat them. They can run the ball and the one area that still concerns me about our defense is stopping the run.

we convert 50%+ on 3rd down
Just want to point out, the Cowboys have yet to surpass the 40% 3rd Down conversion rate on offense yet this year. In fact, they only have one game over 35%:
  • Bucs = 20% (3/15)
  • Bengals = 30% (3/10)
  • Giants = 38.5% (5/13)
  • Commanders = 33.3% (5/15)
  • Rams = 33.3% (5/15)
Sooooo, 50% 3rd Down conversion rate against the Eagles seems unlikely. Therefore I would more focus on...
  • No turnovers
  • Very few 3 & Outs
As long as our offense can give our defense time to rest between drives, that is about the most we can ask for IMO.

To me, we win by getting at least one TD from O, D or ST. Then Maher going making 5 or 6 FGs.

JMHO

Their defense allowed 25 ppg last season and 27 ppg so far this season, a lot of it probably has to do with the tempo and the chunk yards their offense gets - but this Cowboys team hasn’t changed THAT much from last year when we put up 92 total points to their 47. I would feel 10x more comfortable with Dak at QB, but if Rush doesn’t turn the ball over & we convert 50%+ on 3rd down, we win this game and I don’t think it’s close (17 point win).
I think the winning score will be somewhere in the mid 20s.

theyve played the Jags, Commanders and Lions, even the Vikings and Cards are not tearing it up offensively

With the current offensive starters we have at the helm, we’ll be lucky to even reach that hash mark. Zeke is a shell of his former self, Pollard has on and off days, WR’s dropping catches every game, Cooper Rush and Dak both suck, and the offensive line is meh. Not to mention Kellen Moore’s horrible play calling. If the trend continues, the defense will get gassed after being on the field 24/7 and will be more susceptible to injury (which is the last thing we need).

Defense and even special teams look good but they can only do so much. At some point the offense is gonna have to do it’s part.
jesus man, youre glass isnt half empty, its broken on the floor

Should end up being a defensive slugfest. All depends on which Hurts shows up - he hasn't looked exceptional the past couple weeks, but if the Hurts from the first 3 weeks shows up, I think he will do just enough to get some big plays against our D that Rush might not be able to keep up with.

We see the Lions are still the Lions, the Jags are still Jags, and the Cardinals are nothing. Two of those three teams could have beaten the Eagles, and the Jags had them down 14 at one point. Their home field advantage is what worries me.
Yeah it's difficult to play with D cell batteries and frozen cans of Coke being thrown at you. I despise the Dirty Birds AND their fans.

Their defense is actually a good matchup for our offense and the type of game we want to play. We will be able to run the ball on them. If we can avoid giving the ball away and our defense does its thing, we will very much be in this game.

2022
TB ranks 21st in scoring
Bengals rank 16th
Giants 20th
Rams 29th

That's better competition?

You realize your PPG rankings are after they played our defense right?

You believe that Detroit is better than TB? Vikings better than Bengals? Jags better than Rams?

This doesn't quite jive with the title of the thread, which I think is accurate.

What home field advantage ? .... :muttley:

- We're America's Team,.. we're the Cowboys !

- We'll probably will have just as many Cowboys fans rooting and cheering for us.... than the Eagles fans cheering team.

- That's why opposing fans and teams are ever jealous and cannot stand the Cowboys magic. .
