Isn't it obvious as to why that is?? Garrett has just finished year two as an OC. Johnson has been doing it for ages.

But only one of them is called a "genius." The wrong one.

Al Saunders had a long stay in Kansas City. He was offensive coordinator from 2001-2005. Here is how his offenses ranked.

2001:

#4 in Total Offense
#6 in Rush Offense
#5 in Pass Offense

2002:

#4 in Total Offense
#3 in Rush Offense
#11 in Pass Offense

2003:

#2 in Total Offense
#2 in Pass Offense
#15 in Rush Offense

2004:

#1 in Total Offense
#4 in Pass Offense
#5 in Rush Offense

2005:

#4 in Total Offense
#3 in Rush Offense
#11 in Pass Offense

Scoring Offense:

2001/#16
2002/#1
2003/#1
2004/#2
2005/#6

Saunders' offenses speak for themselves. The Chiefs didn't have the defense to win a championship.

Again, Saunders is a disciple of Don Coryell. He coached with Joe Gibbs at San Diego. He was the head coach of the Chargers, from 1983-1986, after Coryell was let go. Saunders has extensive coaching experience with WRs. He played the position, and he coached Tory Holt, Issac Bruce, and Charile Joyner. He served as Mike Martz's assistant when the Rams went to the Super Bowl and lost to NE.

Saunders is 61 years old, and Bill Parcells wanted him in Dallas to run his offense in 2006. That tells me all I need to know. This team could use some Bill Parcells infused in them, and Saunders could be the guy to do it.

Finally, Saunders was born in London.

He could come in and get rid of the "bloody turnovers".

He would probably look at some of the film and say, "That was bloody sloppy".

I'm not the GM, but I would like this:

Wade Phillips HC/DC
Al Saunders OC
Mike Salari OL Coach

My xs and os are covered. This game is still about xs and os.

And if you look closely the real football experts -- people like Marshall Fauk who technically know the game when they see film -- are repeatedly talking about how Jason Garret failed to adjust to the adjustments defensive coordiantors made on him. Ray lewis was going on and on about how simple the scheme was as the reason they shut it down.

Are you sure that the over-simplicity of Garrett's offense is an innate deficiency within the man himself?

Or, could it be that the simplicity of Garrett's scheme was due to the wide receivers' inability to run the correct routes?

Jeff Fisher. But that would never happen because Jerry would always undermine him.

I don't think that's true. Johnson has a very good reputation. Is he commonly called a genius? I don't know that. He's seen as a defensive guru of sorts. Same difference.
