Purpose of this thread was not to make Dak look bad,it is to show he has a long way to go before he can play at Tonys level.I want Romo to start the momemt he is cleared.

I look forward to seeing Romo out there as well but lets not act as if Tony has not had off days as well.

Jim Schwartz (the Eagles DC) said they wanted to get Dak out of his comfort zone by bringing pressure. They succeeded. For some odd reason, they held off the pressure in OT which allowed Dak to be able to sit back and make the throws we are accustomed to seeing.

I only hope the Eagles didn't show the rest of the league Dak's weakness for other teams to exploit later on.
I'm guessing you didn't see the 60 yard run from Elliott off a blitz that was brought back because of a holding penalty? You blitz Dallas, you lose.

I don't think that it's a coincidence that both GB and more so Philly were blitzing more than any other team facing the Cowboys so far (at least based on the numbers I've seen). And that pressure may have been triggering some mechanical issues with his delivery (like the jumping up in the air to throw) and things like that.

True I would also add when you are getting pressure you can't always step into a throw. I see that with most every QB out there. Brady with pressure in his face will throw off his back foot as well.

That's not just Dallas, you live by the blitz, you die by the blitz. It was a great game plan, and up to that point, Zeke had a very pedestrian day. But yes, I agree 100% that you are susceptible to big runs when you blitz 7 or 8.

Not only that, but by OT, did you see the swing pass where Zeke almost scored? You just can't blitz smart teams like that, sooner or later, you pay.

The Philly game is just another feather in Dak's cap. Rallying the team from a 10 point 4th quarter deficit against a very good defense showed that he can overcome a difficult situation and win the game when it matters most. I don't know why you think the Eagles game is a black mark on Dak's record. Didn't you see what the Eagles defense did against Big Ben in their 34-3 thrashing? The Eagles front 7 has a lot to do with that. Give credit where it is due.

What you describe is not what happened. Anyone that thinks the Philly game plays in Dak's favor is not in reality. Dak was awful. Period. End of Story.

Exactly . . . Dak has an off day and everyone ready to pounce on it with all this Romo talk as if Romo and every qb out there doesn't have them.

We have film on this defense now and Dak came out with a win. Good learning tool if you ask me

Honestly in the 51 years of watching the Cowboys I have seen nothing like this. People complaining about a rookie who has helped the team to a 6-1 record on a 6 game win streak. I guess only in Dallas can you go out and win as well as have the best record in the entire NFL and people still knocking Dak. Go figure..

Guys have tough games and come back to win games late all the time. Know what they call that? Clutch.

It's called having a bad game. One that he was bad in all the way through the ENTIRETY of regulation.

It seems there are still a lot of you that don't understand the concept of a team game. Give a guy enough tries with a great supporting cast, and he's bound to have a good series at some point.

The rookie has a ways to go before he's a full time NFL starter, yes.

I mean, ******* guys, we're 6-1 riding a rookie back up QB still learning to run an NFL pro style offense. He had a rough night facing a great defensive front seven and still managed to recover and win the game.

How can you NOT love the situation this team is in with 2 great QB's on the roster?

He was missing tons of throws he normally makes. Funny how literally 5 great games in a row wasn't enough evidence on Dak, but 1 bad game is.

It happens. Even to the best. Then again, we rarely see pic by pic breakdown of Romo's errant passes and poor decisions, even though he's a veteran.

Why are some fans so dissatisfied with 6-1 that they need to stir the pot? We're winning, and until we stop winning, let's roll with what we've got
They have to find something to complain about there hasn't been much lately  this type of season is great for optimists like me !

Nothing but blue skies do i see :omg:

He wasn't good, you're right. Unfortunately for you, he threw the game winning touch down. You need a napkin?

I for one am sick of this "debate." Whether it's DP or TR it absolutely makes no difference to me as long as we keep winning. Isn't that what we all want?
I have to agree with you Super i love Both Dak and Tony i have personally been torn replacing Tony so because of that i have not given an opinion on this topic i think we win either way, but i am sick of this debate also unfortunately it is going nowhere :(

I completely agree with this. His mechanics and decision making were way off, especially compare to how he has played prior to this week. He did well to right the ship and we are lucky it wasn't too late.

Had the defense not stopped the Eagles on 4 straight possessions in the 4th quarter he wouldn't have had the chance to turn it around. Thank heavens he got that chance.
And Dak had the humility to say he had a bad game and the defense helped bail him out in the 4th.

Yes, that's why "running quarterbacks" are so valued in the draft. And that's why when I look at past Super Bowl winners, all I see is quarterbacks who run around and are inaccurate passers. It makes perfect sense.
Dak is not a running QB. He's a pocket passer with running skills. Thank you very much! You act like Romo was accurate when he first started....lol. Smh.
