pink is just a color, it looks neither stupid or good based on that.

I actually dig the color pink and really do wear it often.

I also love the color purple.

I like this idea. I am walking this month in a walk for breast cancer. My mom is a survivor.

They threatened to fine Jake Plummer $30,000 for wearing a helmet decal honoring Pat Tillman. I really wouldn't put it past them to fine 85 a good amount of money.

Yea but theres a pretty big difference between honoring a player and a charity.

Also a huge difference in placing a decal on your helmet and wearing a charity colored *insert piece of misc equipment here* on game days.

I think if he *is* fined the NFL deals with alot of angered people because of what the cause is.

Women make up a good portion of the fan base and I'm glad to see the NFL do their part in breast cancer awarness. Many of the other sports have done it and I figure best pro sport out there should doing their part as well. Good going NFL

they should fine Bobby Carpenter for tarnishing his long-haired tribute to Pat Tillman.

Tillman really wasn't much of a football player, but he certainly was a very physical player. He threw his body all around the field and looked for contact on every play. Carpenter chose not to honor Tillman by playing with the same physicality and instead chose to grow out his hair. Good choice.

I used to be anti-pink anything when I was younger, but I am confident in my manhood enough to wear pink shirts occasionally. Well, on days my wife tells me to. :D

On one of the soccer teams I play on we wear pink jerseys. Seems like most teams wear blue, green or red, so we went with a color that no other team wears. That way we know we don't have to bring an alternate jersey to every game. It is different, but looks kind of sharp. Of course I tell everyone that wearing pink is about the only way I can keep from scaring away small children, which is not far from the truth.

This is a nice job by the league for a good cause. Our local Race for the Cure is a month away and is something I enjoy participating in yearly.

ABOUT THE NFL'S COMMITMENT
The NFL, its clubs and players are proud to support the fight against breast cancer. Our campaign, "A Crucial Catch", in partnership with the American Cancer Society, is focused on the importance of annual screenings, especially for women who are over the age of 40. Throughout October, NFL games will feature players, coaches and referees wearing pink game apparel to raise awareness for the campaign, as well as on-field pink ribbon stencils and special K-balls and pink coins. All apparel worn at games by players and coaches and special K-balls and pink coins will auctioned off at NFL Auction (www.NFLAuction.NFL.com), with proceeds benefitting the American Cancer Society and team charities. This is an issue that has directly touched the lives of so many in the NFL family, and we are committed to helping make a difference in breast-cancer prevention.

I don't think you're going to find many people in that line if they actually read the article, the the preemptive trash talk is also a nice gesture. :laugh2:

Breast Cancer, while declining, is the second leading cause of death in women. I think this is great.

one of the best days in baseball is when they use the pink bats and gloves and wristbands and stuff.

Great gesture - if it gets one extra person to donate one extra dollar to cancer research, it's a success.

If wearing this helmet helps cure just one case of breast cancer.......I would wear it with pride.....give me a pink jersey and cleats to go with it.

Personally, I think wearing pink is a bit sissyish.....however, for this cause, you can't get more manly than donning a pink jersey or helmet.

I wish the Spurs would wear pink and black uniforms on opening night, since it is still in November.....and give a certain percentage of the proceeds for the evening to the breast cancer research.
