I know things are not looking that great for Rob right now, but if you are still lurking could you throw us a bone or two?

Maybe not looking great that he'll start the season as the starting RT, but he's still a big part of the team and the future as long as he continues to improve.

Yes, I disagree that things aren't looking good. He's definitely part of the team. The fact that Parcells wants him to learn swing is very encouraging--makes him valuable to the Boys or any other team. I'd say it's a vote of confidence that Rob is smart enough & versatile enough to handle both.

Obviously more upside in the long term than Fabini so I'm really hoping BP plans on that. I can't see us keeping 5 tackles so it will come down to Pettiti and Fabini. Bill's already said it takes time to develop o-lineman so ROb should get the nod over Fabini.

ha.. true.. i bet that guy in your sig is an Eagles fan, by the way..

anyways, I think that Rob is doing very well.. Parcells likes him a lot and he is much improved from last year.. he is gonna be our swing tackle, which is a very important position.. he may not be starting, but the guy is important.. Pittdawg has much reason to be proud of his boy..

i haven't left, nor am i disgusted. rob is on an emotional roller coaster right now and unfortunately i'm seated next to him. he feels he had a great camp, but doesn't know how everything will shake out. he and columbo have become good friends, except when the yanks play boston, and is pulling for him to win the RT spot if it's not himself.

one funny thing, i have read where some feel rob is the most tradeable of the tackles and might even fetch as high as a third round pick, but in the next sentence remind everyone he has very little ability and are scared to death if he were the starter at either side. oh well, the plight of some dallas fans.

btw, if any of you fans live up north you might know about fabini's exploits at left tackle for the jets last year. if not, go to a jet fan page and ask, you might not be that happy.

I can imagine! I hope his mother, after experiencing that weight loss shock last year, is not on such a roller coaster this year.

You can't beat a buddy from BC...'old' Big East traditions die hard.

Jets fans?!? What are those?;)

I'm in NYC and know all about Fabini. I brought it all up last year, and was shot down because just the fact that he "may" be a Cowboy makes him above ridicule.

The guy is a false start machine. Jet fans are laughing at us for taking him off their hands.

Rob Pettiti is a professional. He knows jobs are won and lost on a dime. He knows he has to work his arse off just to be on the team, and he'll have to work harder to win back the starting RT position.

The NFL is Darwinism at it's greatest. Rob knows this and will do all he can.

Best of luck to whomever wins the RT spot. It'll only make us better.

No need to be a jack arse about it. Furthermore, he will contribute how much is not known yet.

Pittdawg has been more then gracious and accommodating to the football thirsty fans you could at least show some common decency.

thanks for all the insider updates and for sticking with us.. and dont let a few bad apples put a bad taste in your mouth- I think that most Dallas fans are VERY happy with Rob.. to have a sixth round draft pick start his entire rookie season, then to come back and have one of the best offseasons of anyone on the team, looking like a completely different person, and to compete for a starting RT job or to become the very important swing tackle.. well, you would have to be crazy not to be happy with that.. like i said earlier, you have much to be proud of..

Dallas would be nuts to trade Petitti, IMO. They are not that deep on the OL quite yet.

Thanks for hanging around Pittdawg---cowboy fans waver more then
then most. Most forget that it takes offensive linemen several years to
totally figure out the ends and outs of the pro game. Your son has a huge advantage of already having a season under his belt--tell him to hang in there.
I personally think he will be one of our stars of the future--tell just remember
the fans that are fussing this week will love him next week. He has already proven he will work his butt off --his time is coming on a young hungry team:bow:

I would much rather have Rob than Fabini and I hope it is Fabini they can move. Give me the young up and comer any day. My brother is a Jets season ticket holder so I am familiar with Fabini. He is a good player and it's hard to say how far he has fallen off because Herm was soooo bad....but that is another story. Good luck to you and your son, Pittdawg. I am certainly pulling for you both. By the way, I believe you work out at the same gym my brother-in-law goes to. He tells me all the time about talking with you about Rob. If a guy named Ryan talks to you about his crazy Cowboy fan brother-in-law, it's me.

Anyway, good luck!

Wasn't your son injured the vast majority of last season and that ultimately effected his play?

Please discuss Fabini's knee injury and how that led him from being moved from LT to RT and how that compares to Rob's situation last year?

Is that not exactly what you just talk about fans doing with Rob.

Sounds like you have a dog in this fight (master of the obvious).
