if it's ryan the ND grade, i know exactly who you are talking about. nice guy and enjoy talking football with him but never miss an oportunity to remind him of rob's last trip to south bend and palko's 5 td passes for a record.Padd said:I would much rather have Rob than Fabini and I hope it is Fabini they can move. Give me the young up and comer any day. My brother is a Jets season ticket holder so I am familiar with Fabini. He is a good player and it's hard to say how far he has fallen off because Herm was soooo bad....but that is another story. Good luck to you and your son, Pittdawg. I am certainly pulling for you both. By the way, I believe you work out at the same gym my brother-in-law goes to. He tells me all the time about talking with you about Rob. If a guy named Ryan talks to you about his crazy Cowboy fan brother-in-law, it's me.
Anyway, good luck!

not an expert on the jets, but i don't believe he had a knee injury. i beleive he played poorly on the left side and was moved to rt before he sustained a pectorial injury which ended his season. The Realist said:Wasn't your son injured the vast majority of last season and that ultimately effected his play?
Please discuss Fabini's knee injury and how that led him from being moved from LT to RT and how that compares to Rob's situation last year?
Is that not exactly what you just talk about fans doing with Rob.
Sounds like you have a dog in this fight (master of the obvious).
Those wings on TG give me the creeps.LaTunaNostra said:True!...that's why five straight to the Yankees feels vaguely satisfying, and watching Jason's penalties mount up last year were so much fun.
pittdawg said:btw, if any of you fans live up north you might know about fabini's exploits at left tackle for the jets last year. if not, go to a jet fan page and ask, you might not be that happy.
Yes, that's him. The ND grad. Please, stick it to him every chance you get.pittdawg said:if it's ryan the ND grade, i know exactly who you are talking about. nice guy and enjoy talking football with him but never miss an oportunity to remind him of rob's last trip to south bend and palko's 5 td passes for a record.
i agree.. first off, though, I think that Flozell will be playing.. but if not, i would feel much better with Pettiti out there than McQ.. when Bill says that McQ is making the roster, I assume that he won't be active on gameday and that he is just making the squad so that he isnt snatched up by someone else.. i know that Bill loves him, but i cant believe that he would be ready to start at LT..TX_Yid said:The only slight "disapointment" is that it looks like if Flozell is out on opening day that McQuistan will get the start (maybe because Rob played RT all last season?).
pittdawg said:i haven't left, nor am i disgusted. rob is on an emotional roller coaster right now and unfortunately i'm seated next to him. he feels he had a great camp, but doesn't know how everything will shake out. he and columbo have become good friends, except when the yanks play boston, and is pulling for him to win the RT spot if it's not himself.
one funny thing, i have read where some feel rob is the most tradeable of the tackles and might even fetch as high as a third round pick, but in the next sentence remind everyone he has very little ability and are scared to death if he were the starter at either side. oh well, the plight of some dallas fans.

Sorry, ... that's being one.Rack said:And I don't mean to be an a-hole, but he was still better then your son (last year).
burmafrd said:I think that Fabini is barely serviceable as a LT, but OK at a RT when healthy.
He was picked up for RT clearly, and that is all. I think there is little chance that he is as good as Rob at playing both sides. BP has already pretty much said that Rob is the swing guy. Right now I think Fabini is hanging on by his fingernails since BP has flat out said they are keeping McQ. 5 OT's does not seem like something that BP will do unless he thinks the Hotel is going to be out for a while, and there is no real indication of that.

From what I read below, Colombo is the starter, Petitti is the swing tackle, and Fabini is the fifth tackle he's considering keeping. (We already know McQuistan is in because Parcells said so.)
From his Monday news conference:
Where is Pettiti?
He's a swing. That's not a bad thing.
Is Fabini an odd man out?
No, I might keep all of them.
