Plan B at RB

My prediction - first Eagles game, this scenario occurs:
Value of Demarco Murray is proved without a doubt not by him rushing for the 85 yds he gets during that game, but by the fact that Adrian Peterson (which the Cowboys 'brilliantly got') misses a block on the Eagles blitz straight up the middle which knocks Tony Romo out for the season - with Romo's replacement winning 2 of the remaining games and Dallas falling to the cellar in the NFC East. Way to protect your $100+ million investment in Romo, Jerry.

Do you know he blocked for a 41 year old Brett Favre for 2 seasons and yet somehow 'ol Brett managed to come out unscathed?

I like Gordon much better than Gurley. He is the only 1st Round back to me.

respecting your opinion sir, he is a scat back, we need a downhill fwith break away moves/speed. Gordon has the speed, but he can not take the beating, Gurley will deliver the beating, and run away from you, sorry, Gurley is the much better back...

The Eagles did pretty good.

Flip a malcontent and declining McCoy for Kiko Alonso.

Replace McCoy with Murry (who has 656 fewer career touches than McCoy)

And in the process, force your division rival to spend a first round pick replacing Murray.

If this team is forced to spend a high draft pick to replace Murray, instead of on defense or on the offensive line, then that is either pure luck or a stroke of genius on the part of Kelley.

lol....you can't even spell KELLY's name right. We don't need to spend our 1st rounder on a RB btw....Murray was a 3rd rounder. We could get a very solid, young RB in the 2nd-4th rounds in this year's draft.

Exactly. Coleman, Ajayi, Johnson and Langford can all be had in the 2nd-4th rounds. No reason to panic.

I agree that if you want to replace with DM style RB Coleman is DM no doubt... Like him I do >>> Love Coleman, let the draft dictate, what come to you and what you need, I love Gurley at 27, Love Coleman as alternative.....Lots of backs, love Gurley !!

Treat Richardson just got waived by the Colts. Maybe he can step in. He seems like the same style as Murray. Idk if he has character issues which is why the Browns traded him and Colts waived him, but still worth a look.

i would go Defense in the first but if the cowboy stick to BPA then they will draft one of them.

Don't want any part in Gurley, Trent Richardson/Eddie Lacey 2.0. I'm not a fan of power through hole backs, despite what some say, Gurley is not a once in a generation back. There's two RBs in this league that are nearly all power and get away with it; Lynch and Peterson. I have no interest in an RB who is similar to Lacey behind our line. There's also enough evidence out there that shows Gurley gets gassed after about 10-11 carries. Take all of that and add in the injury, I want no part of him in the first. Give me Gordon at 27, a Jamaal Charles-like player that would benefit far more behind our line.

But what my plan B will be? You take a defender at 27 and take Johnson, Yeldon, or Coleman with the 2nd round pick. There is absolutely no need to be trading up for an RB in this draft. Both Yeldon and Coleman, especially Yeldon, are Demarco Murray clones.

IF we can grab Yeldon in the second or third, grab him. It's unbelievable to me how similar he looks to Murray. He has beautiful cuts behind the line, great vision, but has a little more open field burst. He's 6-2 and still had a faster 40-time than any of the other top RBs in the draft. Without hesitation, he'd be in a Cowboys uniform next year.

Melvin Gordon 6'1 215lbs 4.52
TJ Yeldon 6'1 226lbs 4.61

Where the hell did your stats come from??

My bad, I misread the pro day time yesterday and thought it said 4.42. He ran a 4.52 and 4.53, Gordon improved and ran a 4.49.

Yeldon improved greatly on his 40 time (Which is most likely far more accurate if you see the film on him).

Gordon is the better RB, but he won't last into the late second and I want us to focus on defense in the first round. Johnson, Coleman, and Yeldon are the RBs I think we'll be choosing from.

I am beginning to think, this is the only thing that makes sense?

I dont think we get Hardy.

Were going to have to Pay AP, but i think JJ will do it.....Were going to pay him more then Murray. Or right about the same...Maybe we can get some relief on the back end of the contract and in guaranteed money?? Because he is older then Murray.....

I really, really hope that is the case. And I still want to draft a back, 2-4th rounds....

Why cut Murray loose because we don't want to pay him a bunch of guaranteed money and then trade draft picks for a 30-year-old Peterson and his monstrous contract? Makes ZERO sense to me.

I'm a huge Duke Johnson fan, but I like Yeldon a lot too.
