Ohio

The big-ticket item at Ohio pro day is defensive end/outside linebacker Tarell Basham, a front-seven player swiftly moving up draft boards.

Position coaches from the Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans, Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles were on hand.

Thus far Basham’s marks include 4.64s in the 40 (4.70s at the combine), 4.3s in the short shuttle (4.35s at the combine) and 32.5 inches in the vertical jump (a one-inch improvement). He tipped the scales at 268 pounds, one less than Indianapolis.

Basham met with the Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys last night. Besides those two teams, he has received a lot of interest from the New England Patriots, Jacksonville Jaguars, Carolina Panthers, New Orleans Saints and Cincinnati Bengals.

we are looking hard at Basham.I like him in a trade down situation.I think we can find better players at 28.

Yeah Ezekiel Elliott must be a bad athlete because SPARQ says so.

I don't know how anyone gives that any credence. It literally means nothing to me. You might as well say to me, hey...my Mom ranked the players, check it out.

Your mom does do your rankings.

watched some videos of Basham on Draft breaksown. He has very good play recognition, very rarely does he fail to affect the play in his vicinity.he has excellent closing speed .my assessment(i may be wrong) is that he is a stiff athlete ,he has good hand usage but no bend to his game and ideally should be playing LDE in the NFL.I think we can do better at 28 in finding our RDE starter.

He is not really a "sleeper" any more. Not any more than Derek Rivers. Both of them are strong candidates to go high on the second day if they don't squirm into the bottom of the first.

That's what I meant. A sleeper to go higher than expected.

Just makes trading that 28th pick more likely.

Yeah heard that he can throw throw the ball 75 yards effortlessly, so teams will fall in love with his tools. All those deep picks will save wear and tear on the punter I guess.
