This would not be the only reason. There was some speculation he was faking a hamstring issue after a poor run. You might think it is crazy to ignore tape, but some evaluators really think about things like this.

People thought Witten lacked toughness after his Combine when he had to be goaded into a drill.

The key word here is “speculation.”

Teams that are interested in the kid are going to have access to get all kind of background info on him.

I hope we are one of them. If he checks out, I’m banging the table for him based on tape. If we aren’t ok with him...so be it.

The answer completely surprised Irelan and he responded with that question.

People act like the team just came out and asked that specific question. They do ask some random stuff, trying to provoke players and/or make them uncomfortable, but this wasn't one of those situations.

Safety Evan Worthington, who also participated in the Shrine Game and worked out at the combine, timed the 40 between 4.55 and 4.59 before his hamstring tightened up. That’s a major improvement from his official combine time of 4.63 seconds.

It should be noted Worthington completed everything at the combine and timed 7.07 in the three-cone.

He’s drawing a lot of interest from the Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans and Indianapolis Colts. The New Orleans Saints, Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers also spent time with Worthington during pro day.

Dre Greenlaw, who did not run at the combine due to a tight hamstring, timed as low as 4.65s in the forty today, slightly faster than expected.

He presently has official visits set up with the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys and will be worked out by the Tennessee Titans.

    Troy

Blace Brown improved his 40 time by more than one-tenth after he timed 4.75 at the combine, running from 4.65 to as low as 4.54 in the rain during Troy's pro day. He also touched 37.5 inches in the vertical jump.

Brown looked good in position drills, which were run by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He spent significant time with the Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs and Tennessee Titans, and all three teams have shown interest in the corner. Brown also met with the Detroit Lions.

Not me. I am petrified that he may be a consideration at 58.

    Petrified? Based on what?

    - Top 5 run stop percentage
    - 41 stops (1st in ACC)
    - 25 pressures
    - 15+ TFLs

Produced in a fairly good conference / schedule while still being pretty raw in technique.

Not a fan. At 58, if we take a guy he better be more than Collins. He is not.

I actually include Collins in my comp.

I think he is a similar player to Collins, except as a prospect he gives you much more playmaking ability against the run and shows the ability to anchor which.

We desperately need that as per of our DL group.

When thinking of ways to improve our DL, adding more guys just like Maliek Collins with our primo draft pick is not exactly what comes to mind.

Lol - what I was getting at is he's better than Collins.

He offers value in applying pressure and impacting the run game.

Collins is one dimensional, and should be limited to be being a nickel rusher.
