If the Cowboys picked Chauncey Gardner-Johnson or Johnathan Abram, I would let out a victory scream so loud it would register as a seismic anomaly. As to the subject of whether or not they'll be there at 58, obviously on my board they shouldn't be, but draftscout.com has CGJ as ranked #52 and Abram as #72, so we'll see where they end up closer to draft time.

    As to the other names.
Juan Thornhill - Switching to safety did wonders for his tape. I'm surprised he ran as fast as he did; I thought speed was part of the issue that forced him to safety.
Kris Boyd - I have a 4th on him, but he scares the crap out of me; his tape is so inconsistent. He tested well though.
Amani Oruwariye & Marvel Tell - I haven't seen as much as I'd have liked to on both of them, but I've seen positives and they both tested well.

Tell has angle issues, and pure coaching issues and this is why I think you pair him with a guy like Richard who is DB guru especially with lengthy DB's he would be able to get what USC fans have desired for years.

Why are you expecting Lawerence to fall?

    His injury was minor.

I can see Lawrence there at 58. Big DT who isn't there as a pass rusher in a DL deep draft. He could wind up a two down player the first couple years of his career.

Id love him here. Id give it about a 30% of him being there. Should go higher because he has top tier talent, and his tape is good. But I can also see him of teams think he will only be a factor VS the run

I wouldn’t consider Lawerence a true pressure player but he registered more sacks than Vita Vea and .5 sack less than Danny Shelton (though Shelton’s totals were accumulated over 4 seasons) in college. Both of those guys were selected 12th overall in Round 1.

If I’m wagering I think he (Lawerence) goes late teens or if he should drop it would only be to the late 20s in Round 1.

I don’t see any scenario that he drops to 58 outside of discovering some health condition or serious injury.

The thing with him is he had 7 as a freshman and 3.5 the next two years

The point isn’t that he’s some ascending pressure player.

The point is Vea and Shelton are his closest comps. Both of those guys were drafted high.

I have him as the sixth best true DE (not light edge guys), neck and neck with Anthony Nelson.

Definitely a tier three type. Especially if he is going to be another Crawford or something, flipping inside and out.

The comparisons are there, but Lawrence isnt as highly regarded as those two were. At the time they were both clear tier 1 prospects. Alot can change between now and late April, Lawrence looks like a fring first right. Having a PED suspension doesnt help

I would guess Polite yes, Lawrence no.

Lawrence got popped for steroids, which 105% of the NFL is on. They don't care. Polite displayed some big red flags at the combine for his attitude - hell, I had to pull up the quote again because I couldn't believe him. Dude legit acted shocked that teams grilled him in an interview. Then you take his fake injury and showing up out of shape into the picture, and man, that's just bad on top of bad. It only takes one team to gamble on him, but he is going to scare a lot of teams off.

    Why is this unbelievable?

The Dolphins infamously grilled Dez, asking him if his mother was a prostitute.

He mentioned one team, the Packers, that grilled him.

He seems surprised that teams would ask him tough questions and show him bad plays. It's a job interview...

We don’t know the tone or context in which he was asked. Words on paper don’t translate those things easily.

I’m not saying he isn’t immature or whatever, but I would be more concerned if he said all the teams were a doing this to him. Instead, he specifically named a team (Green Bay) that he felt came off sideways.

    There’s a precedent for that.

He makes a lot of sense as a replacement for Crawford, who is about to turn 30.

    Gritty player.

Biggest Dez fan here but I think people don't know the line of questioning from that famous incident.

They asked Dez what does his father do for a living..Dez said he was a a pimp.

They then asked him what did his mother do for a living..Dez said she worked for his dad.

A logical line of thinking would be that someone who works for a pimp is in fact a prostitute.

So the next confused question was "so she was a prostitute?"

Man I am huge fan of these numbers these S put, it would be nice to revamp the d-line in FA, and try to double up at S.

With the abundance of D-line in the draft I think teams might hold off on FA waiting to see what they have after the draft which will allow us to swoop in get some guys at a better market value.

S class isn't as start studded, but there is a ton of athleticism in the draft. With the abundance of FA's at the position teams might look to fill there needs in the first week of FA.

With that being said go get your d-line in FA on shorter term deals and hit the draft hard for S's to improve starters and depth.

If you listen to the video it seems harmless.

Maybe not the smartest thing to say, and he could’ve chosen his words better, but to think this will drop him a round is crazy to me.

Dude, even if that was 100% accurate retelling of the facts, common sense would dictate IT’S NEVER APPROPRIATE to ask someone if their mom is a prostitute in an interview.

Especially a 20-21 year old kid...it’s completely bad form and irrelevant. We gotta get out of the mindset that anything said during these football interviews is somehow germane and can be excused away under the guise of “just seeing what makes the kid tick!”
