not to mention the smear campaign. Just a really poor bungling of this from jump. Funny thing is, now that the pedigree and esteem of playing for the Cowboys is gone, the "Jerry' really cares about his guys" appeal is pretty much erased as well.

Cool
Yea...I conveniently left that out. Just soak this in:
  • Teams had been calling about a trade (i.e. there is value)
  • You do not accept or drag your feet
  • You then start to create a smear campaign and go on talk shows to talk down an asset value.
  • You then release asset for nothing and sell it as "Need a clean start" (that apparently you didnt need 40 days ago)
Imagine someone calls you about wanting to buy your car. You hem and haw and then start to talk about how bad it is performing and costing you. Then you drive it to a junk yard and hand over the keys.

Genius

FA frenzy is front loaded, yes releasing him cost him money and potentially a team. Incognito was 34 years old and been talking retirement.
Yes FA frenzy is front loaded and Incognito totally screwed the Bills by waiting so long to make his decision, now they only have the draft to replace his pro bowl play.

Same formula you are using to say the Cowboys screwed Dez. Street runs both ways. We'll see what Dez gets. Scandrick got a raise after he was cut. Still a lot of teams with a lot of CAP space that need a WR.

If reports are true and teams offered to trade, but you end up with no value then the decision was personal. To cost a player (not to mention an all time TD leader) money, even when the player was willing to take a cut to stay, its incompetent or vindictive.

Retiring is nature. If you cant see the difference, I dont know what to say

Really, E? After one season in which he ended with a not-so-horrible for a rookie 3 sacks, ff, 19 tackles for loss? Cut it out, brother
You mean 19 TACKLES....not tackles for a loss....19 tackles for a loss would have put him right up there with the best players in the NFL.

He COULD HAVE made 50 million. Now, he's gonna have to try to survive on a paltry 25 million! O, the struggle of the downtrodden! How noble! What a role model! He'll have to shop at Dollar General!

Taco Charlton’s tweet is weird. He should keep mouth shut.

LOL ....what can they do? If he can't speak his mind, FO has bigger issues than we realize. They should WANT TO HEAR players true feelings about this w/o fear. They need to hear how this is going over in the lockerroom.

Anyone hear if Matt Johnson injured himself typing that tweet?

I hear that somehow he pulled a hammy just after typing the period in his one line tweet. From what I am hearing he will be out 2-4 weeks and be back for mini camp just after the draft.

That isn't exactly a chorus of support from players. Okung is an NFLPA guy, Taco is a bust until proven otherwise, and Matt Johnson never really played. LOL

Where's Dak, Zeke, Tyron, Lee, Witten, Romo, Martin, TWill......?

So not seeing them on twitter or in the thread means he doesn't have their support? C'mon man.....you should know better.

I do agree with Okung that if Dallas was going to release him, it should have done it right after signing Hurns. Of course, maybe the team had been trying to work out a trade and it just never materialized.

The Fan just reported that a lot of players wanted him gone, especially Dak. Dez was a constant distraction with random rants in the locker room.
