How do you know this?

How do any of us know anything? We all make assumptions based on what we see and hear and read. Another assumption? Most of us PROBABLY feel that most of the players mentioned are more reasonable and logical than someone like Dez, and therefore practicing more restraint.

Really not the point. PLayers want to be released early so they can get in on FA from the start and have more leverage. This is a respectful thing to do unless you know a trade is imminent. Dez is the all-time TD leader and this was disrespectful. I get no one is crying for him, but it is a bad look for an organization that doesnt have many skins on the wall in the last 20 years. Once they signed Hurns and Thompson, do you really think they were on the fence? TO not even offer a reduction?

It is a Bad look.

They pay him a lot of money and weren’t sure which direction they wanted to go. If they want to keep him through the start of VFA, that’s their prerogative. And in Dez’ case that’s especially true.

There may be less money out there now, but there are fewer options competing for it. He’s going to end up in a good situation. They didn’t owe it to him to do anything more than that.

For the same $ if at the beginning of FA? They dragged it out to cut him and limit his offers.

No they didn’t. They dragged it out for their own reasons, which is their contractual prerogative.

You are fielding offers...simultaneously publically badmouthing the goods.

They can do what they want and did, but let's not pretend dez didn't try to come back mid year from a similar foot injury that Julio had and was bad mouthing the org during contract negotiations (wal mart video, etc). This was inept at best and personal/small at worst

Taco Charlton’s tweet is weird. He should keep mouth shut.

Seriously, outwardly slamming the front office of the team you play for one year after being drafted in the first round. All that after being an underwhelming rookie. (Not a Taco hater, but still.)

Business is what it is and he was under contract. Agree to disagree on how they approached it. Did it really take JJ/SJ that many drinking sessions to hash this out and meet with him as has been known all off season? That's giving them a lot of credit esp doing it before the draft. Wish him well, just not against us. Would like to see what he could do w/Brady or Rodgers. ;)

That isn't exactly a chorus of support from players. Okung is an NFLPA guy, Taco is a bust until proven otherwise, and Matt Johnson never really played. LOL

Where's Dak, Zeke, Tyron, Lee, Witten, Romo, Martin, TWill......?

I respect you but when you talk about Matt Johnson that way you lose all credibility.

Was a tweet posted in a thread from rapaport or spags. Said there was offers but cowboys drug their feet

Maybe they didnt trade him somewhere he didn't want to go. I know the narrative is disrespect but its just as likely the other way around.

He wasnt...unlike leak after negative leak about dez coming out during negotiations

It’s pretty unlikely that leak came from the team. It wouldn’t give them any leverage in a negotiation and would only have pissed him off.

If other teams think desz will be suspended, it gives them tons of leverage.

The org thrives on leaks

Well then it is a fake tweet then because Rapoport, Spagnola, nor Slater tweet anything about a trade.

The cowboys also fielded trade offers for Bryant
