Had Romo taken 25% less money, he probably would have a ring. But, yeah, a guy got to feed his family, right?

Had Romo not gone to Cabo, he might have a ring.
Had Romo not dropped the snap in Seattle, he might have a ring.
Had Romo been more careful with the ball, he might have a ring.

Romo wasted plenty of chances. Romo just did not have the heart of a champion and did not want it bad enough. Sorry, no one is spoon feeding a super bowl ring while Romo sits in his high chair.

Or, does Romo ‘deserve’ a ring because …
.....let me add one more. Had Romo run for more 1st downs, probably would have had 2 rings.

It’s odd that some want to credit Jerry for those 3 championships. He definitely brought in the right coach, but he has simply looked completely lost since then. His management gaffes since Jimmy should tell you his impact was minimal if any in those Super Bowls. So he was competent the first 5 years, then has looked absolutely pathetic for the next 25? That is the ultimate problem. Jerry’s done nothing since.

No I didn’t expect a dynasty, but I did expect some common sense! This graph defines the Jerry era more than the 3 championships. The track record doesn’t lie. He certainly doesn’t stand the test of time.

I don't get a number of fans getting out of sorts when the franchise's postseason shortcomings of late are noted. We collectively have no hesitation in bringing up accomplished & celebrated college draftees who fell flat -then label them busts, or pros from other teams the Cowboys traded for who fell short of expectations.

...the stats show a definite history that Jerry n Sons knew little about football. You can even say the 3 prior SB's were a fluke of luck. After all this TIME>>> Jerry has come to terms his football ways wont buy wins. Costly waste of time.

So you think most Cowboys fans believe Jerry is just GM in title only? LOL.

Jerry has all the responsibilities of a NFL GM. Yes, he watches film. Yes, he interviews the draft prospects. Yes, he meets with scouts. Yes, he picks the HC. Yes, he makes the final pick. Yes, he is involved in FA. Yes, he decides contracts.

It's utterly preposterous that you think he's just a figurehead GM who does nothing but get in front of the media and show up on camera on draft night.
That’s cute.

Why don’t we ask “most Cowboys fans” on this board if they believe Jerry Jones studies film the way other NFL GMs do? You apparently give Jerry FAR more credit than I do... so I look forward to the results kicking you right in the teeth.

Would that knock some sense into you?

Nah, you’re not capable of being wrong. You’d just deflect or make an excuse. You’re funny.

Credit? I give him little credit. He's the biggest reason this team has been a bottom third of the league team since 2020. He's the one constant throughout the entire 20 years. Players have changed. Head coaches have changed. Assistants have changed. Scouts have changed. The one constant? Jerry the GM who has picked all them.

If anything, I'd love for him to fire himself (and thinking he can just hand it off to his son) and just hire a separate GM. He'll never do that, nor will his son when he finally gets all the power.

And people continue to make excuses for this franchise and applaud their lack of urgency every off-season.
Aren’t you the one that wants to cut our top 7 qb and rebuild?

Genius plan. That would certainly bring more wins. Lol

You were also crying like a baby when Garrett was fired.

Andy dalton at qb and Garrett as HC. Yah, winning formula!!!

How many hours a day do you think Jerry spends watching film? Over under 5 minutes?

he is the worst GM in football.

One good thing can be taken from this, in my opinion.

All of the Cowboys fans right now are REAL Cowboys fans. In the 1990's we had tons of bandwagon jumpers who abandoned the team once they lost in the playoffs in 1996 and probably never came back. Let's all give ourselves a pat on the back right now. Many of us have suffered for years, but if we do see Super Bowl title number six, that will make it all the sweeter.

I just wish they'd hurry up. I was in high school the last time Dallas won it all. I just turned 43 last month.

Nav thinks Jerry isn't really the GM. That he's just a figurehead GM who likes to go on camera and act like the GM.

The reality is Jerry (and Stephen) basically does all the work of a normal GM.............. and that's likely one of the biggest problems with this franchise.

Jerry himself said he does not watch film.

Holy cow, I had no idea it was this bad. I was fully aware of the only three Cowboys wins, but had no idea how large the disparity was. GEEZ!

Jerry himself said he does not watch film.

If he said that, then I apologize to Nav22 for saying he did. I recall him talking about how guys leap off the film at him but if that's false, then that's my bad.

But the larger point here is that Jerry isn't a figurehead GM. He's actively involved in all aspects of team building. I'd suggest he's also kind of mediocre at it.

EDIT: You appear to be right. Based on a clip of a draft interview I just saw, Jerry basically sits in scouting meetings and they have presentations and share binders of information on draft prospects to help Jerry make the final call. So again, Nav22 appears to be right and I was wrong.

Well I guess Jerry can hang his hat on the fact that only other owner with the title of GM Mike Brown, has three less playoff wins than Jerry.

Agree. He's involved way more than he should be considering his complete lack of footballknowhow and instincts, combined w/ a complete loss at how to build a super bowl contending NFL roster.

jerry is a guy who played football and thinks he knows the business. Ask matt millen how it worked out for him.

Yawn! The Boys are still & always will be my favorite team. I will love them till the day I die.
All the Negative Nancy's in the world, will NEVER change that. BOOM!
