On SportsCenter today, John Clayton was asked which team should we be watching for to surprise everyone. He mentioned Dallas for this reason:
Jerry is interested in Pac-man Jones because he feels he can get a Pro-Bowl talent on the cheap.

I pray this is not true. There is a big reason this player is on the cheap. He's a punk, thug, who's head never left the Hood. He got ticked by a bouncer who stopped him while he was using a stripper's head for a basketball because she started picking up her tip before Pacrat told her to. Aaron Cudworth, a martial artist, got into a scuffle with some of Rat's entourage'. After Cudworth escorted him & his pack of rats out of the Vegas strip club, one of his gangstas started shooting at the place, hitting Cudworth, security guard Tom Urbanski, and a female employee. Just minutes before, Jones had threatened to kill Cudworth. Of course, afterwords, Jones denied knowing the shooter, even though video cameras at the club clearly identified him as one of Jone's associates.

Urbanski was the only one critically injured, with a bullet severing his spinal cord and paralyzing him below the waist. He ended up a paraplegic. This was a husband, father, son, & brother who lost his livelihood and really, his life, because a rich thug didn't like getting embarassed in front of his punk-a** friends.....and we are thinking about employing this scum?? It hasn't been proven yet, but the Las Vegas police dept. have only one suspect in this crime....guess who.

So far, here is the rap sheet on Jones:

involved in a fight at an atlanta strip joint the same month he was drafted

popped for pot in a hotel room 2 months later - his buddies took the call

1 month later he's busted for a fight in a nashville bar

april 2006 his caddie was involved in drug dealing

3 days later he's questioned about a shooting

in august he's popped for public intoxication and disorderly

again in august he's ticketed for spitting in a person's face

and now the vegas connection - goodell's gonna have nightmares.

It was bad enough when they brought in Tank Johnson. Bringing in Jones or his like is going way too far.

Count me out of the Cowboy's fan club if that day ever comes.

I don't understand people who say "if we get this certain player or this certain coach" I'm not gonna be fan anymore...

Personally, I could careless if Jerrah signed Charlie Manson and I would just want to know if he can cover or not....

I agree with you but in my opinion this would be the most moronic signing Jerry ever made.

Man, what are you guys so worried about? You would think you are having to pay his salary or something? You are acting as if he is coming over to take your daughter on a date?

This is Football, who cares what the punk does off the field.
Can he cover? YES
Can return kicks and punts? YES
Does he have the potential to do these at a pro-bowl level? YES
Is he going to cost alot of money or picks to bring in? NO
Will he be brought in on a very short leash with a lot of conditions? YES

So what is the big problem????
If we can get him then get him, I dont see any risk here..

I dont really want him here because he is a trouble making thug, but if we get him for a 6th or 7th rd pick or something conditional in a future draft based on him staying on our team, I wont complain

that said, I still think its a real longshot that anybody acquires him, because he might not ever be reinstated

Boy it gets tiring watching everybody take their little stand against the scourge of the earth known as Pacman Jones.

I wonder how many of these same folks will be jumping up and down when Pacman is returning an interception for a TD in a Cowboys uniform?

We've gone through this same scenario so many times with this team:
Charles Haley
Deion Sanders
Keyshawn
Terry Glenn
TO
Tank Johnson
and many others........

Name me ONE TIME when any of the players we have brought in who were supposedly "bad eggs" have caused problems with the Dallas Cowboys.

the big difference is none of the people you have listed has ever had the rap sheet Jones has...I wouldnt invest much to get him, because he cant be trusted to stay out of trouble off the field. I also think he's on a no tolerence policy if he is reinstated, meaning if he does anything else again he's probably gone forever

None of those players, with the exception of Tank, had run-ins with the law, if I'm not mistaken.

And, with all due respect, I think you miss the point.

Most of us won't stop being Cowboys fans or cheering them on because Pac Man scores on an INT.

We just prefer to win with the least amount of distractions as possible. Pac Man is a distraction. And distractions can hurt a franchise in ways we can't always measure.

Or, look at it this way. Some of the same fans talking about only winning matters so we should bring any thug of the street to help us win a Super Bowl will be the same fans moaning and complaining incessantly because the media (or mediots as is the term around here) are constantly pounding this team with negative publicity.

The media, this. The media, that. Blah. Blah. Blah.

We say we don't care what the media thinks. But Jerry does. And so do the marketing people at Valley Ranch. And so do the fan base.

And you're hedging your bets that Pac Man is that one player who will help us win a Super Bowl, along with hedging your bets that he won't have another strip club episode and bring further shame upon himself and this organization.

If this signing happens, I'll still be a Cowboys fan. The Cowboys are bigger than any one player. But that doesn't mean I have to like it.

little bit of a stretch?

Im against it because I don't think Pacman will stay clear of trouble. He just doesn't seem smart enough and maybe he just can't.

anyway, if he is signed, it will be for a small cap-hitting contract that has tons of incentives and clauses that protect Jerrys and the teams butt.

If by chance he is signed, I really hope it doesn't alter the way Jerry and CO. feel they need to address the draft. Having a wildcard like Pacman could easily leave the team one CB short at any time. If hes signed, I pray a 1st round CB is still picked.

I completely agree. I don't want this trash representing my team.

I'd rather lose in the Super bowl with character than win with this guy playing for the cowboys.

I dont know why all the worry...

If the NFL lets him play again.....then bring him on in......if he is cheap ...then there is no risk.

Funny how....when the "white house" occured....all was cool....we had alot of players come here with problems....rap sheets...etc.....we had alot that never been busted...who were into drugs...steroids etc....

But when we win.......its all ok......right?

Let the NFL deal with Pacman.....and if he gets a another chance to play this game then bring him on in.

Lets not make these players our "role models" ........I really dont care what these players do off the field.....none of my business.

If Pacman helps us win.....then great.....if he ends of being a thug once again....no harm done....move on....

Then you are not a real fan..."We play to win the game". Not to freaking lose with dignity.

Get the F OUt Here!:laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

All you Pacman haters are just like the t.O haters...And guess what? all those tools that hated T.O are now chearing their little balls off for HIm.

You know why? Because once you wear the star you become part of us. YOu fight for the star, not for the fans.

Did any of ya'll read the story on Jeremy Stevens? Before reading this story, I was all for bringing in any and every high risk/high reward players. However, after reading about that d-bag, I never want to root for a team that rewards that kind of behavior.

It is one thing to have a gun fetish, it is another thing to consume contraband, rape women, and be involved in fights and shootings.
