Maybe they're saying that people deserve the chance to change?

Maybe they're saying that no life should be forfeit.

And maybe they're simply investigating what could be a smart business move?

Give the sanctimonious speeches to Michael Irvin, he was no choirboy either. But he was given a second (and third!) chance.

If you don't like the move, you can move to Washington and root for the Commanders.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but lay off telling everyone else what to think.

Irvin was a member of this team long before he got into trouble, Pacman has been in trouble dating back before Tenn so I think most Cowboy fans were willing to stick with Irvin. I think most are willing to give a person a 2nd chance however when talking an 11th chance, come on after a while these chances are nothing more than a joke. Jerry is not going to change Pacman only Pacman can do that and he has not shown that, which is why he is still suspended and it is not a sure thing he will be able to return before training camp. After that he is still property of Tenn and Dallas would be foolish to give up any pick for this guy

I don't understand people who say "if we get this certain player or this certain coach" I'm not gonna be fan anymore...

Personally, I could careless if Jerrah signed Charlie Manson and I would just want to know if he can cover or not....

Pac Man has only played 2 years and in his 1st year he was beyond awful.

His 2nd year I admit he was pretty good.

His 3rd season he had to sit out.

So there is no way of telling if the guy is even worth the risk unless you want to put all of your marbles into 1 year.

Hes so not worth all the hype he is getting that is for sure.

If we bring Pac-Man in we are saying it's o.k. to act like a complete piece of crap.
WE ARE TELLING OUR CHILDREN IT"S O.K. AS LONG AS WE WIN!!!!!!
IT IS O.K. TO HURT INNOCENT PEOPLE!!!!!
JUST WIN!!!!!!!!
Being a cowboy is about more than just winning....
If you don't like being a fan of a team with some semblance of dignity
Redkins Nation is taking applications!!!!!!
GO PUT ONE IN!!!!!

The first mistake you are making is letting Jerry Jones decisions raise your kids. It is not telling my kids that at all. I could easliy use this as a great tool to talk to my kids about several issues they may face in life.

Boy it gets tiring watching everybody take their little stand against the scourge of the earth known as Pacman Jones.

I wonder how many of these same folks will be jumping up and down when Pacman is returning an interception for a TD in a Cowboys uniform?

We've gone through this same scenario so many times with this team:
Charles Haley
Deion Sanders
Keyshawn
Terry Glenn
TO
Tank Johnson
and many others........

Name me ONE TIME when any of the players we have brought in who were supposedly "bad eggs" have caused problems with the Dallas Cowboys.
you listed 6 guys with 2 arrests and one ticket between them. thats a far cry form a guy with 6 arrest just since entering the nfl and two since being suspended.

i'm not a fan of pacman because i don't think you can depend on him.if i was jerry and i wanted to take that risk i would draft me 2 cb's so iwas covered when he gets suspended again.if he does'nt then i'm covered and if he does i'm covered.the risk of signing him is not a big as the risk of depending on him.if you cover yourself like you don't have him and you can get him cheap them i guess i could see the value in that. but if you get him and assume he is gonna contribute anything you are taking too big of a risk

About half the fan base was vehemently against the T.O. signing.

But now that T.O. has proven to have been a great addition for the Cowboys, the VERY strong majority loves him.

The same will happen with Pacman. If he's a big help on the football field and he keeps his nose clean, he'll soon be a fan favorite.

Move along...

Thats the thing about TO.

Love him or hate him you knew we were going to get a dominant player.

Pacman has only played 2 seasons and set out his 3rd.

There are absolutely no guarantees with this guy.

While some of us were aginst the signing of TO one thing none of us worried about was TO getting arrested or having off the field problems with police. TO is a lot of things, thin skinned at times a bit insecure when it comes to trust and loyalty but he is not a criminal. Pacman is and has done nothing to change that. I understand some around here would take Charles Manson if he could play football but there are many who do think turning the Cowboys into the Federal Prison football team is not something we would like to see.

I mean if its week 5 of the season and we lose Henry or Newman for the entire year and we did an absolute horrible job of finding some talent to put at the CB position this offseason then come talk to me.

Right now we have no reason to touch this with a 10 foot pole.

I did not say that we should not find a CB I said I would not touch PacMan. I find it strange that Witten is one player who did go to the Commissioners office along with others complaining enough is enough with these problem players. They get tired of being lumped into the group of arrogant players who feel the law does not apply them so it does matter in the eyes of some players. Talent matters but so does caracter.

I didn't say you said that.

I agree with about everything you have said in this thread.

F Pac Man.

Then wouldn't we be screwed anyway, regardless of what happens with the Pacman Jones situation?

Nobody says that Pacman = no draft pick for cornerback - nobody.

You would still take a cornerback in Round 1 no matter what you do, or don't do, regarding this guy.

Anything else would be asking for trouble.

None of those players, with the exception of Tank, had run-ins with the law, if I'm not mistaken.

And, with all due respect, I think you miss the point.

Most of us won't stop being Cowboys fans or cheering them on because Pac Man scores on an INT.

We just prefer to win with the least amount of distractions as possible. Pac Man is a distraction. And distractions can hurt a franchise in ways we can't always measure.

Or, look at it this way. Some of the same fans talking about only winning matters so we should bring any thug of the street to help us win a Super Bowl will be the same fans moaning and complaining incessantly because the media (or mediots as is the term around here) are constantly pounding this team with negative publicity.

The media, this. The media, that. Blah. Blah. Blah.

We say we don't care what the media thinks. But Jerry does. And so do the marketing people at Valley Ranch. And so do the fan base.

And you're hedging your bets that Pac Man is that one player who will help us win a Super Bowl, along with hedging your bets that he won't have another strip club episode and bring further shame upon himself and this organization.

If this signing happens, I'll still be a Cowboys fan. The Cowboys are bigger than any one player. But that doesn't mean I have to like it.

Good post.

Maybe we can put a chip where his brain should be:laugh2:

If we did that without having anything to do with Jones, we'd still be screwed wouldn't we?

It's fine to not want anything to do with the guy, but it's weak to be simply making stuff up to support that position.

I don't get this holier than thou thought process.. PacMan is not a role model,, no player in the NFL is a role model.. I don't care what he does when he is off the feild.. that is none of my business.. or yours.. he doesn't represent you or your belief system.. he is a football player.. that's it.

I have been a fan of the cowboys for a very long time.. I watched the Hollywood's, the Irvins, all the so called thugs and law breakers... and i cheared for every last one of them.. without exception, because they were Dallas Cowboys. I love the team.. I love the star.. and no one player is going to change that.

If Jones wants to risk HIS money.. and HIS rep.. and HIS team to give this guy a shot.. so be it.. i will stand back and cheer for him, just like i have for everyone that as worn the star.

and besides.. Pacman may be just what this team needs.. someone that is not so choir boy.. like Williams and Ware.

On SportsCenter today, John Clayton was asked which team should we be watching for to surprise everyone. He mentioned Dallas for this reason:
Jerry is interested in Pac-man Jones because he feels he can get a Pro-Bowl talent on the cheap.

I pray this is not true. There is a big reason this player is on the cheap. He's a punk, thug, who's head never left the Hood. He got ticked by a bouncer who stopped him while he was using a stripper's head for a basketball because she started picking up her tip before Pacrat told her to. Aaron Cudworth, a martial artist, got into a scuffle with some of Rat's entourage'. After Cudworth escorted him & his pack of rats out of the Vegas strip club, one of his gangstas started shooting at the place, hitting Cudworth, security guard Tom Urbanski, and a female employee. Just minutes before, Jones had threatened to kill Cudworth. Of course, afterwords, Jones denied knowing the shooter, even though video cameras at the club clearly identified him as one of Jone's associates.

Urbanski was the only one critically injured, with a bullet severing his spinal cord and paralyzing him below the waist. He ended up a paraplegic. This was a husband, father, son, & brother who lost his livelihood and really, his life, because a rich thug didn't like getting embarassed in front of his punk-a** friends.....and we are thinking about employing this scum?? It hasn't been proven yet, but the Las Vegas police dept. have only one suspect in this crime....guess who.

So far, here is the rap sheet on Jones:

involved in a fight at an atlanta strip joint the same month he was drafted

popped for pot in a hotel room 2 months later - his buddies took the call

1 month later he's busted for a fight in a nashville bar

april 2006 his caddie was involved in drug dealing

3 days later he's questioned about a shooting

in august he's popped for public intoxication and disorderly

again in august he's ticketed for spitting in a person's face

and now the vegas connection - goodell's gonna have nightmares.

It was bad enough when they brought in Tank Johnson. Bringing in Jones or his like is going way too far.

Count me out of the Cowboy's fan club if that day ever comes.

Why dont you just stop being a cowboys fan now?? Bank on this. we are gonna get pacman no matter how many people on here cry about it.. i suggest you be a deadskins fan or maybe a Iggles fan now.. funny, how some people call themselfs fans, and say if we get this guy im not a boys fan nomore.. Funny stuff!!
