I think people use this excuse to make them feel good about having this idiot on our team just because we had success with guys who partied hard back in the 90's.

In this day and age of the NFL, it certainly won't be the last time I'll be called that, for that I am absolutely freaking sure of.

It's still boils down to what you contribute on the field.

If he becomes a Cowboy, keeps out of trouble and doesn't become a distraction, it's a win-win

If he becomes a Cowboy and gets suspended (or worse) and misses games, he doesn't end up contributing **** on the field. Combine that scenario with a critical injury to Newman or Henry when the defense needs cornerback help the most and it's a lose-lose.

The main reason many of us are opposed has nothing whatsoever to do with his physical abilities. I can't and won't deny them. It is the rest of the package, from character to attitude to baggage that is just plain unappetizing.

He's probably going to be a Cowboy. I'd say the odds are 90% that he will be and I will deal with it. Calvin Hill has done good things with Tank, Ray Sherman great things with TO and both of them had similar baggage. I think this is a much taller order.

I'd prefer another avenue, but don't assume any of us are unaware of his physical talent. Most of the people here are a long ways away from being stupid.

If you want to check out some good videos, go check out Anquan Boldin highlights at YouTube. The guy seems to play like Owens, and I wouldn't mind having two of them on the field.

I would like us to get Pacman, trade for Boldin, and than use our two #1 rounders on a CB and RB (Talib and F. Jones sounds alright with me).

Should he play this season, Adam Jones will be 25 years old this September. If he signs with Dallas, I hope that he's got more than one good season left in him--especially since he's a former 6th overall draft pick. One good year would be a very poor return on any investment made for him.

Just curious, but where'd you get this information? I haven't read anything like that. If anything, I find that people with his personality type generally try to be the class clown and draw a crowd to themselves. Maybe he's just not very good at that, but instead attracts the attention of the police?

No, you misunderstood.

Adam Jones is a known, proven, starting quality cornerback. No cornerback who will be drafted next month is proven yet.

If Jones were on the team and Newman or Henry were lost, Jones could step in without much (if any) loss in ability at cornerback. The same cannot be said of any r-o-o-k-i-e.

Finally, there is a fundamental difference between losing a starter or a backup due to injury and losing a starter or a backup due to a suspension. The two should never be confused by anyone debating the Adam Jones issue--pro or con.
