Why do people even mention Suh? He is absolutely as far from a RKG as you could get. Zero chance we go for him.

Yes yes and yes and...... He will never hit the market anyway .....

Anyone else think it will be easier to sway a few folks our way now that the team took a step forward and the need is fixable to get over the hump on defense?

If Dallas decides they want to upgrade CB this is how I think they should proceed:

1. Cut Carr (after June 1st) and save $8 million for cap in 2015.
2. Pray like heck Claiborne can become adequate as his contract is guaranteed for 2 more years.
3. Sign either of following FA CB to replace Carr:

* Cromartie (Arizona)
* Braylon Maxwell (Seattle)
* Kareen Jackson (Houston)
* Chris Culliver (San Fran)

There are other stop gap CB available (Rashean Mathis, Tramon Williams, Brandon Flowers and of course Darrelle Revis).

no no no no no

I disagree with our window closing I think we are a young team 4th if Im not mistaken. O Line is young D Line will be young.

You have a point. I would at least say our window is closing and it's not closing. We've seen that without a QB in this league it doesn't matter how good your team is (see Arizona). But we also know that you don't need an elite QB to compete for a Super Bowl if you have a very good but not elite QB (see Seattle). We know we're probably not gonna have another guy of Romo's caliber here for a long time, so we want to go "all in" and try to win now since it's our best chance. But we also know that we don't want to ruin our future for the present since we have some excellent young players to build around. But if we're too cautious, we might miss out during the Romo era and go back into another decade of irrelevance.

That all hinges on what happens with Carr

Yep. I think we could be fine with Carr and Scandrick as our starters and Claiborne and Moore as our backups. Of course Carr doesn't deserve top dollar so he'd have to take a significant pay cut, but he improved heavily later in the season. I don't think we should throw out any big money for any veteran CBs. If we could get a guy like Brandon Flowers on the cheap, I'd be all for it. I think we really need to save our money to add a superstar or two to the D-line. We've seen hour good our O-line is with 3 superstars. The D-line really needs a star. I think Crawford is emerging as a star and may be considered one next year, but there's really nobody outside of him. There are some nice rotational guys like Lawrence, Mincey, Spencer, Hayden. The D-line has been awful the past few years. It needs top priority.

Cromartie is absolute garbage. Both as a football player and as a person. If you don't like Carr, you won't like Cromartie. He may get more picks, but he is a big play waiting to happen. It's why he has bounced around so much.

I really like Kareem Jackson though. Tough as nails. Big hitter. Outstanding man to man.
Culliver would be my second choice.

I wouldn't be opposed to keeping Carr barring he takes a pay cut. He really impressed me the last few games of the season. I think our CBs would be much better if we played to their strengths (man coverage), provided a pass rush, and gave them a security blanket in a ball hawking safety.

I wonder if Claiborne would be better at FS where he can see the ball in flight. Poor trade but have to try to make something of it.

I wouldn't put any extra pressure on him switching positions.

Just take our medicine for 1 more year and hope he does better than he has

Jerry Jones said he wants to get Romo a ring. That's his priority. And if Garrett wants to get to a Super Bowl, he'll swallow his pride and let Jerry do his thang. Besides, Garrett played under Jimmy Johnson. And Johnson signed Haley, who was a key contributor to the Cowboys Super Bowl run. Don't think Garrett has forgotten that.

Suh wants JJ Watt money. He isn't nearly as dominant as Watt. No thanks.
