Image: Pollack wasn't too happy with Randle

he "should" have that look?
this place is abysmal when we lose.
what if i told you there were different styles of coaches with different personalities?

I'd say you were another "super fan" telling others how to be fans.

Has it not been explained to you that you don't take opportunities to score touchdowns for granted? If Randle wouldn't have done that and they end up settling for 3 or turning the ball over, would you still be like, "Whew, I sure am glad that Randle didn't score by putting the ball out there with one hand. That would have been too risky."? Do you have to score with the least amount of risk to satisfy you? What if Weeden fits the ball in a tight window for a TD? Too risky? Better to have thrown the ball away, you have more downs to do it, right?

Football is a team sport. You have to play within the team concept.

Maybe Dan Bailey thinks he should have been a RB and just starts going for it on 4th down instead of kicking the ball. What if that worked the 1st time?

What if Weeden just starts calling his own plays? Maybe Weeden thought he could roll out and score by running it in on that play.

this is sports, if it works, you take it. Someone had to start the "fake punt" if it worked, it took off, if it didnt oh well. same with Icing the kicker and gadget plays, its the life of sports.

No, those plays were likely called by coaches.

You can't have players that think they are above the team and just do what they think is best.

we dont know you wernet there, i wasnt there. some qbs can call their own plays, that happens, no one complains if theres a touch down, so far only this fan base seems to. Sometimes a RB has to shift on the move, no one complains until theres a fumble. Do you tell the RB where to go if a defender shifts it up? No, so i dont expect just the coaches to say what is what. Sometimes you take a play on the fly.

This also goes hand in hand of what i say of the media, "all their talk means ntohing once the ball is kicked"

if your game plan is to throw it to Dez, but T will has the hot hand, you play T will, who cares your game plan.

We have a saying around here "they dont ask you HOW you won, they ask you IF you won"

Your confusing team adjustments with a single player free lancing.

Obviously, players have to make decisions on the field, but that has to be done within the framework of the scheme. They gave Randle a direct order not to go over the top on that play but he did it anyway. If it was 4th down they might be OK with him doing it, but it was not 4th down.

Can I drive 100mph through a school zone because I did it once and nothing happened?

I don't get the feeling that you played football yourself.

the play was made, he made an adjustment, TD. you bother with stats i bother with facts. It happened and the play was clean. no different than if he crossed the plane and someone stripped the ball. it happens. stop being irked he made a TD. if there was something the team needed, it was a TD. you raent the coach im not the coach.

The coaches are the ones that are irked and yes, they actually are the coaches.

The concept that it worked so it's OK to disregard the coaches orders is the dumbest concept I've seen on this board.

I'm certain that was the first finger roll touchdown in Cowboys history.

possibly, but when you have coaches playing not to lose compared to playing to win. we get irked if the players do it but dont care because they lost passion because they dont believe in the coach, or we love it when tehy say screw it and score. The coaches shouldnt be irked at the player, they should look at themselves and say "how can we change this"

but you know, lets blame the players for trying to win. because i hear so many that are pissed when Dez wants to win. you know , during the campo years, it was ok the team sucked, at long as they listened to teh coach. thats all that matters. its what i say after a win "we might have lost, but we listened to teh coach"

I think you're just trolling. Nobody can actually believe a concept as stupid as the players just disregarding the coaches because the players think they know better.

Again, it does not appear that you played football yourself.

Anybody who has ever played, at any level, has had a play work and came to the sideline, only to meet a harsh attitude because we didn't execute it right. There are reasons coaches coach and players learn. I get that it worked and the result was 6 but if you are specifically told not to do something and you do it anyway, you do it at your own risk and you should understand that consequences are coming.

I tend to revert back to raising children because that's what I've done for the last 309 years (LOL....). I tell my kids that nothing good happens in Bars after Midnight. Now, they don't always listen and I understand what being young means but honestly, there is a reason I give the advice. They may get home safe and the results may not be negative if they do this but it only takes one bad incident at the wrong time and life changes. He has whatever coming IMO. You have to be smarter.

Wanting to win and being smart aren't necessarily related. Carelessness with the ball is going to get you in trouble with the coaches, and no, that's not something we yell at coaches for coming down on. Not sure what your argument is here. It was a careless play on Randle's part that happened to work out once. He keeps it up, and he won't be on the field, and rightfully so.
