Twitter: Pollard on the load that he can carry

Everyone bashes ceedee for drops.... did you see evans last week? I remember Jerry Rice doing same thing. Every wr has drops. They should take a great catch on a bad pass and make that eliminate a drooped ball.
Evans is an extremely reliable receiver...dude fights for balls in double coverage and gets them. Did you watch last night?

. Could you pick another example?

Ah yes, the myth and lie that Pollard cant block you continue to peddle.

Is it in defense of your fragile hero Zeke? Dont you find it ironic that with all your talk of Pollard not being to handle the load, its now Zeke two years in a row that has failed to handle even his reduced load?

And oh, there will be change. The offense will be much better with Pollard getting the carries over the hapless Zeke. You can count right?

3.8 ypc for your hero Zeke and 5.6 for my boy Pollard. Which one would YOU want toting the rock?

Here were the first couple drives for your hero Zeke last week. A big reason why the offense stumbled out of the gate:

First drive: On 2nd and 10 Zeke goes for 2 yards. Now 3rd and long, sack, Punt.

2nd drive: Ist down Zeke runs for 2 yards. On 3rd and 1 Zeke gets stuffed for -2 yards, Punt

2 drives that featured Zeke and did NOTHING to help this team extend drives. Funny how most are blaming Dak for this. Reality it was more Zeke than anything else.

Pollards first few carries of the game: Pollard 6 yards, Pollard 7 yards, Pollard 6 yards. This was the first drive Pollard was featured and its no coincidence that we immediately started moving the ball and scored. It should be noted that all 3 runs were right up the middle.
The next one on 2nd and 4 from their 5 went 2 yards then got stuffed for no gain on 3rd down to settle for FG from 3 yard line. You also failed to mention how Pollard got stuffed on 3rd and 1 later in the game running wide right but lambasted Zeke when it happened to him.

Thre injury to Zeke is why I stated KM should use RB3 just a little bit every game, now they have a RB who's never carried the ball in the NFL subbing for TP.

TP is going to ball out! (Proud fantasy owner)
Hope CeeDee n Turp get some carries.
Is a 3rd RB getting called up off PS?

I would hope Davis will be ready, he looked very good during the pre season.

While I mostly agree on Evans.. he did lead the league in drops one year here recently. I think it was the Super Bowl year..

You know how this works.. Zeke makes more money so he shouldn't need blocking.. It's okay for Pollard to fail in these key situations because he makes less money.. At least that's the logic these people keep foisting upon us.

Sorry I missed that stat. Not sure what qualifies as "drops". I know QB's will gamble with him because he does fight and win the ball a LOT. I don;t see him "dropping" many wide open passes.

Live in Tampa Bay area so I watch a lot. Just not a huge "stat guy"...I can't remember them! :p

I would also like to see some other guys get reps.

With Dowdle out on IR, Davis is the only true RB we have. I felt he went out and earned a spot on his team in pre season and hope to see him get a chance this coming game. I like what I saw out of him but again it was pre season, now it is for real

No worries.. I'm not even sure drops is an official stat to be honest.. Some sites don't even track them. But I distinctly recall that one year when the screaming talking head morning shows had a recurring "what is going on with Mike Evans" theme at least once a week. To be fair I think he got whatever it was fixed by midseason that year but he had SO many early on he still led the league.. I will post the link if I can find it..

The pro-football-reference advanced stats only go back to 2018 but I did find this:

https://www.bucsnation.com/2015/11/...re-drops-today-than-anyone-in-the-past-decade

I guess it was farther back then I remembered but that 2015 season he had a HORRIBLE case of the dropsies. But he seems to have fixed that for good.. though he did have a huge drop of a wide open TD last week against Carolina.

I can see Dak picking up the slack with 5-6 designed runs. He’s just a sliver less fast and elusive than Lamar Jackson…..its really close and will be utilized

I hope this is a joke.. Dak is a 4.7 guy at best.. Jackson is a 4.3 guy.. That's a lot more than a sliver.. That's about 5 yards of distance at top speed.

I had to laugh too...Dak is (was?) a pretty tough runner..but a "sliver less fast"? hooboy.

You miss the point. All backs get stuffed of course. But Zeke started out cold as ice and that contributed much to our slow start. On the other hand, Pollard started out quickly and gave the offense a spark which he typically does.

I would also note that I would be using Zeke on short yardage and short GL plays. I think putting Pollard in there on the GL like that was a mistake.

They still need better defined roles and Moore continues to use them improperly. Although he has finally figured out that it should be more of a 50/50 split. Took him 4 years.
