Pollard quickness

It's hard to say whether Pollard can be the lead dog at that point. He's perfect for his role right now. If we get Zeke from 5 years ago back I don't care if they ever bring Pollard in. Still Zeke is 5 years older now and he's gonna need more breaks. That's just reality. Pollard needs to come in and produce in those situations. He did have some big games the last two seasons but the fact remains that he finishes with a LOWER ypc than Zeke more often than not. Like it or not if he doesn't come in and light it up the Cowboys are rushing Zeke back and not thinking about Pollard much until Zeke gets tired again. That's how it works folks so all the hand wringing over wanting to see more of Pollard is wasted water. The main thing Pollard has got to do is improve between the tackles and he has got to get better at that wonderful skill of always getting back to the line of scrimmage no matter how many guys break into the backfield like Zeke has shown. I don't know if he can but he's never going to be the #1 back if he gets dropped for a loss or no gain on 30% of his carries which I believe was the case last season. Yes the home runs are nice but home run hitters who strike out all the time are Rob Deer or Dave Kingman.. Give me a guy who hits fewer home runs but bats .330..

TY while i was gone all day you said everything i would have..LOL

pollards not an every down back period end of story..hes a very good sub back thats it..top 10 my azz @CATCH17 same Dak hater want to piss on zeke as well..go graB AN EAGLES JERSEY AND ,MOVE ON ALREADY TROLL
10-4 man.

I don't get why it's "Dak hate"...but when you do the same thing to zeke it's okay. Whatever.

Over the course of emitts LONG and fortunate career...he had a total 0f 17 40+ runs. 5 years he had zero. five years he had just one. three years he had just two. Just two years he had 3.

A good back isn't about 40+ yards.

And let's say you do "flip the field". If you run for 2.3 yard the next 3 plays....so what?

Look...I am a fan of Tony. I think we are very lucky to have these two RBs. But 1) we aren't using them properly...and two...history shows a tad bit of caution replacing zeke with Tony. That is all I am saying.

I think zeke does way more than people give him credit for. "he needs more 40+ yard plays to be good". What the....

Right, and once again, Zeke has those 2.3 yard runs but doesn't ever pop those long runs, so the criticism of Pollard supposedly being feast-or-famine in this regard 1) completely misguided; and 2) only highlights the shortcomings with Zeke.

I agree. But we CAN NOT just bring Pollard in when zeke raises his hand. Willy nilly BS.

We NEED an intentional game plan for the defense we face. And be flexible too. I am not convinced KM is up to the task. He wants passing stats.

To compare those 2.3 yard run scenarios to Pollards shows your biased agenda. But anyway. I suppose ...if you are sincere....we're gonna have to agree to disagree on the matter and let it be.

Pollard didn't even start in college. Zeke destroyed the 4 best teams in the NCAA for the NC. Let's TRY to cheer on both of them...what do ya say?

Oh, please do explain the differences?

You keep trying to hang your hat on Pollard not starting in college which is a silly argument. Antonio Gibson never started a game for Memphis and balled out last year.

I'm guessing you didn't know Pollard played WR two of his three seasons at Memphis.

Zeke is an extremely gifted RB. His only issues are bringing his A game every game. Zeke didn't even get 1000 yards last year and has not looked like his old self after first two seasons. Pollard offers speed, better hands, and great hustle. Right now, Zeke has to prove he can play like he did his first two seasons AND prove he will continue to bring his A game when we are aren't winning games. Otherwise Zeke was a 2 year flash in the pan as far as I'm concerned. Hope he has a bounce back year, but I would bet on it.

You call yourself a Cowboys fan? Few backs dish out as much punishment as Zeke on EVERY run. I counted at least three fumbles that were caused by him initiating contact and at least once where he laid the wood on a DT. He needs to be better with the ball but questioning his effort is a mistake. Most backs after they get paid avoid contact but not Zeke. And he almost hit 1k yards with a 3rd string o-line and backup QBs not to mention a defense that couldn’t get off the field.

Is he perfect? Heck no. He needs to take care of the ball and play with some burst. Is he washed up? Not even close.

Yeah I share your concern about Moore. I just don't get the sense that he has much of a feel for the running game nor any desire to develop it. Hopefully we're wrong and he gets closer to figuring it out this year and going forward. I also agree that they need to have a plan for Pollard and he cannot just be a spell back. I don't like that because sometimes Zeke might get tired on 3rd and 2 at the opponents' 9 yard line. Better to execute a plan that keeps Zeke as fresh as possible throughout so that if that "dirty yards" situation presents he can be in the game and be effective.

I am saying zeke has th elong hard years of pedigree playing MANY MANY snaps.

The fact the you don't...refuse to.. understand zeke's blocking and "hard yards" and the way defense focuses on him...means ...well...ignore!

Have a great day!

Nope...he washed up....playing behind gilbert and nooch...and some kitchen help O-line....why did he NOT have more 40+ yards?!

"Washed up" of course.

Everybody who has gotten to see Zeke up close this training camp has sung the same tune.. The dude looks amazing.. words like faster, quicker, smoother keep coming up in the conversation. I won't waste any time arguing with people who question his effort or his commitment. Carrying the football into the teeth of the defense hurts.. A lot.. stepping in front of 250 pound blitzing linebackers hurts.. A lot. Playing on a strained quad and a strained calf (both of which Zeke did last season) hurts. The guy went out there and put his body on the line over and over again... When he wasn't at 100%, when the QBs were garbage, when the line was garbage he kept going out there for his team. The whole "he got paid now he doesn't care" narrative is absolute horse bleep.

Lol it’s not 1992.. Every down backs run the ball 15 times a game and catch 5 passes.

Pollard is what a modern day back is supposed to look like.

don't care

zekes twice as good as pollard its fact no matter how hard you try to deny it and use last years stasts..

pollard is not a CM and or Kamara type, even though you are trying to hard to use that as an argument, new age my arse..hes backup a very good sub for every down nfl back..but keep trying 99% of the population of fans know zeke is better in every way other then this alleged burst and speed i didn't see for the first 4 plays that went for under 3 yards wi8th the starting OL..opp he hit 13 yarder and upped the average but long term this is pollard and like ronnie states clearly Pollards average suffers the more he carries and nearly always below zeke with 1/3 the carries/...

if TP was destined for greatness he would have 6YPC with his sub 100 carries and force the FO and coaches to play him more. Its not that way..

im bored of you and this, wipe your arse with TP , its all you got is tp..

Zeke gets volume and that’s it. He hasn’t passed the eye test in years. He just does what backs that get a ton of carries do.

Pollard can be a Antonio Gibson type who is currently viewed as a top 10 runner and played WR in college. Follow someone other than Dallas.

Pollard's problem is that Jerry has invested too much time, money and hype on Zeke to give Pollard much of a chance to shine.
I'd take Pollard in a heartbeat over the expensive and washed-up Zeke.
Your team would suck.
