He’s a weapon. He’s not a workhorse running back that’ll tote it 300+ times a season but he’s a playmaker for chunk runs and is developing as a pass catcher.

If I’m his agent I’m probably pulling the Kamara card and trying to get him 10+ million.

I’m anti pay RBs but if he continues to show more as a pass catcher I’d consider it.

Zeke's 2023 cap hit is more than his dead cap number, so I think he will be released after this year. I think Austin Ekeler's deal is in line with what Pollard could be offered (4yrs/$24M) as a the lead of a one-two punch RB tandem.
Zeke knows he will never see the huge money again. He also doesn’t want to be released. If he and Pollard are at all tight, I could see Zeke taking a salary reduction next year, making it feasible to sign Pollard and keep them both. If he prefers to move on, keeping the bulk of his salary, that’s his decision. I think Pollard and Davis would be fine.

Pollard is about what Christian McCaffrey is.

That’s who Pollard compares to.

So saying Pollard is a situational player means someone like McCaffrey is as well.

The truth is Zeke is toast and Pollard needs to be on the field more than him because he produces at an elite level. If anything Zeke should be used based on situations.
If you're going to compare him to CMac.....then he will be injured. Then what?

Pollard/Davis is a dynamite combo.

Pollard has been lucky to stay healthy. Somehow, his style suits him for that reason. I still worry that giving him too many carries could hurt us.

Then again, I like our backup RBs in pretty much any combination we could run as long as we give whoever is playing RB enough carries, per game.

I would also like to see Shampklin back in camp next year. That guy is a playa, too.

He's a lot like Pollard.

Offer him 4 years, $50,000,000.00. And not a penny more.
He's a running back. You can get another good young running back in the draft.

Giving Zeke too many Carries hurts us. Pollard is actually good. How do you not see this?

The thing Pollard has going for him is that he has been run into the ground

Zeke is good too. Just at a different aspect. In short yardage, give me Zeke. I'll take Pollard, too, though.

The fact you think Pollard is invincible is what worries me. You have to make a point to keep him healthy for the playoffs.

Same for Zeke.

At the end of the day, it's not about stats. It's about winning games . . . or the only stat that matters.

There's a good reason to use both of them. Or even all three or four of our backs.

All capable, if you ask me.

1. What is Pollard? Is he an every down back or a platoon level back?

2. If he is viewed as an every down back what might his next contract look like? If he is a RB by committee back what would his contract look like?
It looks like the Franchise.

He'll get tagged. No need to worry about until this time next season.

At that point it will depend on the progress of the other RBs on the 2023 roster...

Rich Eisen called Pollard as big of a home run hitter as Tyreek Hill.

He's right.

I don’t think any RB is invincible. Y’all act like Zeke don’t get hurt.

Pollard is starting to resemble Marshall Faulk. If they can keep it going with the quick passes he really will look like him. Having said that Faulk was arguably one of the best RB’s I’ve seen play in the NFL.
