Pollard is upping his price every game. No way we can afford him. He will be somewhere else getting paid. Other teams will overpay him by lot.

Pollard is about what Christian McCaffrey is.

That’s who Pollard compares to.

So saying Pollard is a situational player means someone like McCaffrey is as well.

The truth is Zeke is toast and Pollard needs to be on the field more than him because he produces at an elite level. If anything Zeke should be used based on situations.
Pollard isn’t what McCAffery WAS.

Pollard is starting to resemble Marshall Faulk. If they can keep it going with the quick passes he really will look like him. Having said that Faulk was arguably one of the best RB’s I’ve seen play in the NFL.
Pollard isn’t Faulk.

Every down backs are now as rare as fullbacks in the NFL....but Pollard will command easily over $10m per. I hope he and his agent don't liken him to Deebo Samuel because he is way overpaid in SF, getting almost $25m per for next 3 years. I don't think they will settle for anything less than $12m. If you compare it to the Zeke contract, he would then be worth it.

1. What is Pollard? Is he an every down back or a platoon level back?

2. If he is viewed as an every down back what might his next contract look like? If he is a RB by committee back what would his contract look like?

How many "every down back" can take a fly pattern down the sidelines to the house?

Pollard is a weapon. While he's platooning he can stay on the field as a motion RB/WR. That's the best role for him, IMO. What we drafted him for.

Finally using his speed downfield creates the matchup problem we always should have been exploiting. Match him up with a CB we run, with a LB we throw *to Pollard*.

Ironically we got two of the only LBs in the league with a prayer of keeping up with Pollard running downfield.

Cowboys' Damone Clark: Sets NGS record in NFL debut

Clark saw his first action of the season in Sunday's win over the Bears, picking up six tackles and logging a top speed of 22.19 mph while chasing down Justin Fields -- setting a new Next Gen Stats record for a linebacker in the process...
The previous NGS record for top speed recorded by a linebacker was held by Micah Parsons, so the Cowboys may now have the fastest LB group in the entire league.

So much Giggity!

I believe Pollard signs a lucrative deal elsewhere for his next NFL team this offseason, and the Cowboys also make Elliott a cap casualty. In the draft the Cowboys draft 3-4 backs (including UDFA) in the mid to late rounds, and UDFA. May the best 2-3 + Malik Davis, make the team.

Completely new corps of running backs coming to the Cowboys in 2023.

His market value was listed somewhere between 5-6M. But I have a feeling he is running his way out of Dallas at the moment.

LOL, it went up to 7.7M market value.

It looks like the Franchise.

He'll get tagged. No need to worry about until this time next season.

At that point it will depend on the progress of the other RBs on the 2023 roster...

This.

He'd cost more than the franchise tag on the open market. Probably more than 2nd year franchise money.

Franchising him is the way to go. RBs just hit the wall too quickly for long term contracts.

I believe the same. But I'm never in favor of drafting a RB in the first 2 rounds. However, our offense needs a good running game. I may be willing to explore that possibility given how good our D is playing. If we're picking late in the first round, and there's no obvious CB or DT available, and one of the best RBs are, I'd pull the trigger.

Since he’s taken RB1 duties he’s played at a franchise tag level. We’ll see if that continues but if it’s anything like the last three weeks it’s an easy decision.

Not their style. The Schulz treatment is much more likely. Franchise the quality veteran as a bridge while you draft some young guys to develop. Makes sense for both positions too, as multiple RBs and TEs get used.

And with Pollard, he's just much too good to let go while affordable. He gets franchised 1, maybe 2 years.

2 years? lolno, we're not paying 21M a year for a scatback or even a premium ladanian tomlinson bell cow in his prime

21M a year? Yeah, we're not paying that. And that's not the projected tag price for a RB either.

Pollard will cost whatever the FO agrees to pay him. If his agent doesn't make it acceptable to our FO, it'll be a problem. Let's hope they'll find a way to keep him around as a Dallas Cowboy. If not, he'll move on. That's just the way it works in the NFL. I'd like to keep him but we'll see.

We may have to compete with another team, making it problematic to retain him. We all know this FO has limits as to how much they'll pay, however. I could easily picture a scenario where Stephen fails to offer a contract that suits both Pollard and his agent. That's the cross we bear.

1) Aaron Jones

2) Probably 8-9 million per

Id compare him more to Aaron Jones personally. Pollard has better burst and Jones has better balance

Of all the crowing Jerrah does, he sure is quiet about how good Pollard is. Guess it makes his overpaying Zeke look bad.
