Popular bands you never could get into...

I'm not talking about 1 hit wonders. Bands with two or three albums released that hit high in the charts, that you really just don't like.

For me, I'm apathetic to my ambivalence toward Red Hot Chili Peppers. I can't say I've ever purposefully listened to an entire song of their's on the radio. Usually I'll change the channel.

For country, Reba McIntyre. No idea why, I just don't like her style/songs.

Pearl Jam. I actually like a couple of songs, but I never got into them. Eddie Vedder sings like half of his tongue is cut out.

I'm with you on Springsteen. He doesn't have a single song I can tolerate even a little bit.

U2. I like a couple of their songs, but don't understand why they get so much love.

I also don't get Arcade Fire. The instant I hear them on the radio, I get irritated.

Rush. Though I was "okay" with Rush until that idiot DJ on the Eagle.

Rap. I just don't get the attraction. I like singing, not rhyming. Over the years a lot of people have had me listen to songs they are sure will open my eyes to the art. Just like some paintings that people love and think are brilliant, the art is over my head. I just don't get it.

I'm really surprised so many people list the Beatles. I don't own a single Beatles album or even song, but there is no question they were extremely talented and influenced many artists. Not to mention many of their songs were covered or pieces taken to create other songs.

Agreed on Pearl Jam, although 'Black' is an awesome tune.

Aerosmith--i like a few of there songs but overall, eh. Then they have that horrible ballad for that Bruce Willis end of the world movie that was almost as bad as the song.

Almost all heavy metal. I have the Metallica Black album(which many Metallica fans say is a sell out album) , but beyond that, I really don't like heavy music like that. Also, no "screaming" bands - you must actually sing with a discernible melody.

They say Metallica sold out at And Justice For All. Personally, I love Metallica before Justice and I like them after Justice. My favorite metal type is Thump and Crunch. (not speed metal, but mostly slower with a low heavy crunching sound) Like Sad But True off the Black Album and most of Pantera's stuff.

They didn't turn to absolute crap until St Angre. uke:
