Iron Maiden - I like metal, but I think they're horrible. Just the worst example of what metal is. I'm surprised how popular they are among fans and musicians alike.

U2 & Aerosmith are kinda in this category for me....I don't mind they're music, but I definitely don't go out of my way to listen to them, save for a few songs that are really great, like One and Sweet Emotion.

I truly feel bad for anyone who doesn't get Springsteen. Not your fault, but man you're missing some great stuff.

I'm not talking about 1 hit wonders. Bands with two or three albums released that hit high in the charts, that you really just don't like.

For me, I'm apathetic to my ambivalence toward Red Hot Chili Peppers. I can't say I've ever purposefully listened to an entire song of their's on the radio. Usually I'll change the channel.

For country, Reba McIntyre. No idea why, I just don't like her style/songs.

I was listening to the Chili Peppers before they made it big time They had 3 albums before the 4th that got them on MTV and went gold before the Blood Sugar album blew them up big time. I started following them in 86

1984 was their debut album self titled then they followed up with freaky Styley which has a totally different sound then you hear today since they worked with George Clinton and then Uplift Mofo Party this is where everything changes since they lose Slovak to heroin overdose and the drummer Iron leaves. The sound starts to change and the stuff you here on the radio started basically in 89 but most the stuff you here today is from 91 and on albums

U2
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Most of Led Zeppelin's stuff
Doors

Most all Rap songs! Cowboys players on Twitter are always posting stuff that make no sense to me. Come to find out, it's usually Rap song lyrics. Most of the lyrics are just stupid (sorry Rap fans).

Most all Country music.

+1. Great pop songwriters, but they're whiney, smug, and annoying.

Exactly.

I have taken a TON of flack over the years for my opnion that the Beatles are the most overrated band in history.

Sure they knew how to write a nice little pop song and fill an arena with screaming young girls but Sir Paul?

Puhleeze.....

Never got the Springsteen thing.
Loverboy.
Bon Jovi.
I'm sure I could name a dozen more...

Question for the anti-Springsteen crowd....

Have you heard anything written before Born in the USA? or not played on the radio?

Pfftt.......Overrated not in the least. Yes they excelled at writing little pop songs up until 1966 or so but from 66 on they were pure genius.
Im sure your basing this on hearing i wanna hold your hand and love me do on the radio a million times but go grab abbey road and give it a listen from front to back.

What do you think of this?

Listened to about 5 seconds of it before closing the browser. I don't care what the rest of the song was like, it's definitely not something I'd enjoy.

Pearl Jam. I actually like a couple of songs, but I never got into them. Eddie Vedder sings like half of his tongue is cut out.

Same here. Pearl Jam.

In 1999, I quit listening to all "rock", so also any popular band after 1999.

GWAR - Sure their outifts are cute, but their music was a little too on the Pop-side for my sophisticated tastes.

Aw, you closed it before hearing any of the singing, that was the point in posting it.

KISS

I don't know why, but growing up I never could get into anything Kiss produced. I never despised or loathed them when hearing them on the radio, but always remember turning the dial. I just wasn't into them. I never learned how big they were until watching Gene Simmons Family Jewels on A&E and watching Gene in his typical fashion showing off the Gold on the wall in his home office. I remember thinking; 'Damn!, that goofy makeup/clown group was really a lot more popular than I ever thought.' :laugh2:

Weird? I know, I guess the whole clown thing caused me not to take them serious.

I learned through Family Jewels to respect Gene for his vision and business acumen, and his book is on my future reading list.

In a nut shell I was just always indifferent to them. :D

I've heard it all friend. I wore out the White Album. Listened to Abbey Road alot on the 8 track in my buddy's Cuda. Transferred Sgt Pepper's from my uncle's reel to reel to cassette. Didn't say they weren't a good band. Just don't get the over the top hype. I also think they took themselves WAY to seriously. Good band but way overrated.

All of it. My buddy was a huge Springsteen fan. Had to endure that crap weekend after weekend. :D
