Positives:
  • Season’s almost over.
  • Players that emerged: Demarvion Overshown, Rico Dowdle, Cooper Beebe, Osa Odighizhua (he’s been good in the past but this year was his best), Marist Liafau towards season’s end.
  • Brandon Aubrey remains the best K in the NFL.
  • More Cowboys fans getting fed up with the never ending Jones circus.
Negatives:
  • The worst off-season in Cowboys history. This season was torpedoed by the Jones boys‘ before we even started training camp. Their refusal to make decisions on key contracts early ruined their ability to create cap space and make the moves they needed to improve the roster. And they continue to lie about it.
  • The injuries. The Overshown injury was heart breaking.
  • Not enough weapons on offense and the insane decision to start Zeke at the beginning of the year. It killed the running game early in the season along with having two rookie OL who needed time to develop.
  • No end in sight to the Jones stupidity, incompetence and arrogance.
There are of course a lot more to add to both groups, but damn did you absolutely nail the ones you listed...

add a negative what about Ferguson, is TE a low key need this off season?
Maybe. I think Fergie had a rough season because of some nagging injuries like his knee and that concussion. I think he’s better than he’s shown lately.

We could use another TE but it is way down on the draft priority because we have so many deep holes to fill at multiple other positions.

I can't think of any.

Overshown was a bright spot, until he got hurt. Now we have to worry about whether or not he is injury prone.

Beebe was okay, but Hoffman looked better. We have to hope Beebe improves.

I could say Mazi's improvement was a positive but he still sucks.

Liufau I suppose is a positive. Jourdan Lewis emerging as a defensive leader is a positive - as long as they re-sign him.

I can think of far more disappointments this year starting with all the injuries.

Does Liafau say starter to you or in special packages?? Beebee does he stay at center or possibly try him at guard

Overshown was starting to come on now we wait to see what he looks like after his injury.
Marist has shown glimpses of being a player, I hope to see him make a huge jump next year.
Kendricks was a very good FA pickup for this ball club and really didn’t show any signs of age. If we retain him and keep his snap count in line he could have another solid season.
Kneeland was playing very well before his injury, he didn’t put up big stats when he came back, but he was key in the improved defense.
Beebe had some moments where he showed his lack of experience, but overall it was a successful campaign. Now we have to figure out is he a C/OG
Hoffman/Bass both of these players appear to be keepers who seem like they’re developing into solid starters I’m excited for them rolling into 25
Steele- Yes Steele, it seems that as the year wore one Steele rounded into pre-Steele injury, could it have something to do with Zach no longer being there? Who knows, but encouraged with the progression.
OSO- had a pretty good year he will probably demand a big contract.
Lamb- dudes a beast
Mazi-? I contemplated this one for a bit, I felt Mazi has gotten better was a he worth a first? No, but after the adversity of his rookie year I think he did a decent job gaining valuable reps and experience. Coming off the injury and a full offseason ahead of him I’m eager to see if he will continue to build on it.
Aubrey- dudes a beast
Bland- He’s about as consistent as they come.
Butler- I think this young man has a future it’s sucks he got injured so late in the season.
Lewis- dude had a crazy good year I hope we retain him.
Turpin- guys an electric player
Lawson- I thought he gave us great reps as a sub player.
Rico- good year for him but he shouldn’t prevent you from upgrading that position.

That’s all I can think of off the top of my head.

That last one may, unless his asking price is too much! Kendricks is very underrated, made a lot of good tackles out there for us

There are some positives. But we know how this thread will turn out. :banghead:
Wow. A thread asking for positives which you claim to want and even here you bring in your "fear of criticism reflex." If this isn't plainly clear to you about what you have going on internally it'll be forever steeped in denial.

This could be debatable....BUT, I thought the guys not quitting knowing their season was over is one of the positives.
very very good point, ask several in here they might not like this because they wanted a good draft pick. Some of these guys on this team still actually care about winning and not what pick we're going to possibly get

The good news about the players mentioned is they are ascending. Good coaching, along with more talent, could maybe take him to the next level.

And he is at it again. Only responds to me in a negative way.
I fear nothing. You are wrong again, still.
