I don't see that at all. lol Right now, even before Washington, we rank 31st in total defense. I think you may have got confused bc we got to play some really bad teams down the stretch. But this defense is atrocious. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2024/opp.htm

The bright spots were CD, Overshown, Aubrey, and Turpin. Overshown will likely never be the same after tearing all 3 knee ligaments.

The best part of this season is that it's over. We agree on that much.
Absolutely atrocious.

It's been so completely awful that if it is just a little less bad some starting thinking it's good.

That more people realize now, Dak will never win us a SB.

That more people realize, with this owner and GM, we will never win a SB again, especially with an average to semi decent QB like Dak.

Any clue on what Zim meant about doing it his way in the beginning, that an indictment on player availability or Jerry
Zimmer explained that he was trying early on to slow-transition from Quinn's scheme and even coaching style. He wasn't as demanding as usual and he tried to incorporate some of the stuff Quinn was running. Looking back, he wishes he had just pushed the players into doing what he knows works (I think some of that is more Double-A gap looks, which we didn't use as much early on).

Well, we were missing one of our starting All-Pro corners early in the season and the other one rest. When you are putting players like Andrew Booth out there, you can expect bad results. We also lost a starting end, a possible key rotational end, a starting linebacker who was looking like a superstar and even our top defensive player for part of the season (along with a bunch of other corners).

If nobody has brought it up, the only positive is that another waste of a season is in the books, and I can start watching paint dry again

- Both rookies OT Guyton and C Beebe received extensive and considerable game experience playing time.

- Rookie LB Marist Liufau had a solid rookie year overall, and was a stand out in a few games - most commendable stepped up when Overshown went out for the year.
- RB Rico Dowdle remained healthy and durable - and as a starter, had a breakout season, and his first 1,000 yard season.

- Speedy KR/WR Kevontae Turpin continue to make his presence felt - especially on special teams with both kick-return and punt return for TDs. En route to another Pro Bowl invite.
Even impressed in surprise spot duty at RB (in-between the tackles at that)

- Despite a busted shoulder, CeeDee Lamb not only continues to display his skills as one of the more Elite WRs in entire NFL, but he
is easily one of the toughest, gutsy players in NFL, but in Cowboys history.
Whether Dak or backup QB Rush, he still was balling out big time.

- Bland was able to return to starting duty in 2nd half of season, in nick of time as Diggs was IRed for 2nd time in Cowboys career.
- Zimmer defense impressed vs one of the more formidable offenses in Tampa Bay Bucs
- Cooper Rush led impressive offense out-put vs Washington and Tampa Bay in big surprising wins

- FG Brandon Aubrey continue to establish himself as the new premiere FG kicker in the entire NFL en route to another Pro Bowl invite.
Only regret is he does not have the record for longest FG in NFL history ( he eventually will.!)
- WR Tolbert has shown a knack for seizing TDs in goal line/red zone spots.

- while not yet living up to his 1st rd billing, Mazi has improved from what he was as a rookie.
- Osa who usually tends to wear down 2nd half of seasons, actually showed up in this 2nd half.
(He's gonna get the big contract he covets, imo..either from Cap Boy or another NFL team)

- This is the best year i've ever seen from nickel CB Jourdan Lewis- he has been terrific in coverage, no up & down moments

* * Thanks for Sharing ... :thumbup:

You don't have to be a glutton for punishment to root for this team, but it does help!
apparently it does help a lot of our fans. Some say? I've been here for 30, 40, 50 years.....I hope they don't treat their spouse like they do the Cowboys, after all those years! Lol!!

Of course. However, my response was strictly pertaining to someone claiming our D wasn't bad.

I have liked some of the things we've seen since Parsons returned despite all the missing parts we've had. Granted, some of that was against bad offenses. If we keep Zimmer, hopefully we'll add a few new parts that aren't just scrubs. Of course, we're already going to be down Overshown and Diggs at the start of next season, so we've got that working against us before we even get there.
