possibility of a three way trade?

I know there already are too many threads about trade scenerios involving JuJo. While i've said before that the Boys should see what he can do under a new coaching staff who might be willing to 'cut him loose', sort of speak, the coaching staff and/or Jerry might not share the same sentiment. However, if we trade him then we need a RB that can come in and play from day one. Another rampant rumor involves SD's Turner, as a possible candidate whom the Boys might be interested in.

My question to the board is, is a three way trade possible (in addition to finding teams who are willing to do this)? and if it is, would it be better than two seperate transactions, in which we ship JuJo to some team and get Turner from SD? What are the advantages and disadvantages of such a scenerio?

I promise i'm not trying to start another rumor, i just want the opinion of those who are more knowledgable than me on this issue.

Was that technically considered a 'three way trade'? if so, what did Baltimore and San Fran get in that trade?

The only problem with your scenario is that any team willing to trade for Jones would probably be just as interested in Turner, leaving us out in the cold.

You are right and i though about it as i tried to workout the scenerio in my head. The only way it might work is if the other team is not willing to compensate SD what they want for Turner and Jerry is! He has been known to pay what it takes to get a player he believes is a good addition to the organization.

It was a forced trade but just one I thought off the top of my head.

Draft picks and a DE were involved. I don't remember who got what.

Didn't Atlant get Ashley lelie from Denver last year in a three way trade? I can't remember for sure but I thought they did.

Was that the TJ Duckett to Washington debacle?

I've got it, we should trade Dexter Coakley, Darren Hambrick, Julius Jones, the #22 pick, and Jerry Jones' plastic surgeon to Oakland for the first overall pick, which we then trade to Dan Snyder for Clinton Portis, Sean Taylor, London Fletcher, Marcus Washington, and Al Saunders' playbook.

Eh? Eh?

I'm not certain of what you're asking. If you're asking can a three way trade occur then yes. If you're asking for examples I'd have to look them up and I don't know how to start. Maybe look at prior drafts. They usually list the trades. One is given.

I can imagine a scenario. Raiders pick Russell. TB offers their 1 and three as well as next years two for Detroit to pick Johnson and then trade him to TB. Detroit agrees in part but wants a player from both TB and Minn as well as draft picks involving a swap of picks between TB and Minn. This would almost have to get done prior to the draft behind closed doors. It's likely too complicated to be done these days but could happen.

I'm sure you can envision something similar involving Jones, Dallas and two other clubs.

Sorry, if i wasn't clear. But i was actually talking about a scenerio involving the Boys, SD, and another team that needs a running back but not willing to pay what SD wants for Turner. I'm also assuming that Jerry is willing to pay what SD wants, may be not a 1st and a 3rd but a compromise of some sort.

I am not very knowledgable about this stuff, so i'm merely asking for some opinion about what advantage a three way trade gives the Boys compared to two seperate trades.

I'm sorry, why would we trade Jones for Turner? How is Turner a sure fire upgrade over Julius? The guy has started 1 game in 3 years. he has a gaudy average per carry but so did Hambrick when he was Emmitt's backup.

If Turner was all that then some team like the Giants or Browns, who are desperate for a RB, would have traded for him already.

Julius is a very good RB and will prove it this year in a new offense with better blocking up front.
